Tom Ridge, former US Secretary of Homeland Security, has revealed in his new book which will be published on September 1 2009 that he was "pressured to raise the terror alert to help Bush win re-election in 2004."
Paul Bedard writes in the US News and World Report that "among the headlines promoted by publisher Thomas Dunne Books... Ridge claims he was pushed to raise the security alert on the eve of President Bush's re-election, something he saw as politically motivated and worth resigning over."
This is quite contrary to Ridge's 2004 statement, when he said "we don't do politics in the Department of Homeland Security."
The terror alert was raised three days after the Democratic National Convention in 2004.
Republicans used scare tactics to win the election? Could this be possible?!
At least they didn't decide just to steal the election again like in 2000 (Hillary Clinton claims they did)...

It is now obvious to me that the Bush Administration rolled out terrorism announcements frequently to give Bush a boost in the polls against Democrat John Kerry. In my opinion this is morally and maybe criminally wrong.
Even Tom Ridge knew what the Bush Administration was using the fear of terror attacks because Bush polled well as he frightened the American people.
