The Twilight New Moon Countdown: Three Months Until the Film's Release

I'm beginning to wonder if the Twilight Saga is this generations Titanic. I remember my step daughter seeing that movie at least six times in the theater. When I finally saw the film on DVD, I wasn't impressed at all. In fact, I never had any desire to ever see it again. I'm still miffed at all the hype surrounding the movie too, including the numerous awards it won.

I would guess there are those who feel that way about Twilight and probably the highly anticipated November release of New Moon.  This time, I'm not a member of that group though.  I simply cannot wait for November and this movie!

Today, August 20, marks the three-month coundown until New Moon's November 20th release date.  Like Twilight, I imagine I'll be seeing a late morning matinee on opening day because I simply cannot wait to see what Summit Entertainment has done with book two, even if it is my least favorite of the novels.

Of course the movie trailers that have been released are only fueling my desire to see this film. Have you seen both of them yet?  I've embeded links to the official two New Moon trailers below incase for some reason you have not seen one or the other yet.



 



I've always considered myself to be on Team Edward, but I will say that the Meet Jacob Black trailer below does an impressive job of leaning even us die-hard Edward fans into the Jacob camp.





About the only thing I'm still luke warm on is the visual representation of the wolves. I still think they look too cartoonish and unreal. I can think of other films that heavily use CGI, take the Star Wars films for example, where the characters actually look more life like than these wolves in New Moon do. I really hope the final movie cut has them looking a bit more realistic than what is shown in the film trailer.

I've been eyeing up my bookshelf these last few weeks, knowing that I will re-read the Twilight books again. Afterall, unlike many of you, I've only read them all once.

So are you looking forward to the New Moon movie release?

How soon will you see New Moon once it comes into theaters?

Is there any particular scene from the book that you do or do not want to see? What is it?

My daughter got me hooked on the series. I saw the first movie before reading the book so I wasn't nearly as disappointed as a lot of others upon first viewing it. She will be going to the new one in the early morning hours; I can wait. I agree with you about the wolves ~ seems like there would be a lot more they could do to improve on them. Like you, I've only read the series once, but will most likely read them again if given a chance. As for any scenes I would/would not want to see, I really have no expectations. I usually watch movies for pure entertainment, rather than from a critical eye, so I'm sure I'll enjoy it no matter what. I am really happy that they kept the original actor who played Jacob as he was one of my favorites. Thanks for the trailers! Enjoy the movie when it comes out! =)

I'm probably in the minority on this one......haven't read any of the books and didn't see the first movie. My nephew loaned me his complete set of books to read but they have been sitting in the bedroom for months, just can't seem to get started with the first one........I hope you enjoy the movie when it comes out!

My son and I are anxiously awaiting this release. I am really excited. To be honest, i Have really been thinking about reading the books again and I never ever read a book twice.

There are only two books I can think of that I have read more than once... The Lovely Bones (another movie I can't wait for) and Final Scream (I think that was the name of that Lisa Jackson book. I can't remember, there are so many).

I have not read the books and I have not seen the movie. I am curious though, because I really enjoyed some of the Vampire movies in recent years.
Eventually I'll get the first movie and sometime this year I will read one of the books in the series to see if I like it.
So no, I will not be running out to see it.

Actually, I did see the first one and it was OK, but not a movie I would want to see again or own on DVD. I'll watch the new one I suppose, but I won't pay to watch it in the theater.

I'm looking forward to the movie and hope to see it the first day or two that it is out. I'm looking forward to the scenes in Italy.

I'll probably go to the matinee the first day also....BEFORE all the screaming girls. Pher and I saw the first one, and neither of us were that impressed. Angela and her friends just loved it though...but they are all 12 and 13. I will admit I did doze off when I took Angela and a friend to see Twilight. Oops.

I'm in the Team Edward camp, though I do think they could have done a better job casting him in the movie. Angela is Team Jacob....
I've not read the books, although I did see the first movie when my daughter insisted we buy it on DVD. I'm sorry, but I wasn't impressed, but then it is not my type of movie or book to begin with.
My daughter will see #2, but I doubt that I will.

A friend of mine gave me an unreleased book copy of Twilight. I have to say that I have never read it. I have never been to the movie either. I'm really into vampires, but for some reason I just haven't had the time to read this book. I've been reading others.

I'm excited for the movie even though it was one of my least favorite books in the series (Eclipse is pretty close). I just wasn't a huge Bella fan and wanted her to quit whining so much. I want to see what they do with the story line and Edward in the movie. I hear they have incorporated him more in the movie (which would be smart since there are so many die-hard Edward fans).

i've seen EVERYTHING & ANYTHING having to do with the twilight saga.. i'm more than obsessed ! haha.. but i've been counting down too.. i can't waittt ! were all planning on going to the midnight showing.. even if we have early classes the next morning or same.. however you look at it.. haha.. have you seen the clips from comic con? soo good. it's going to be amazing. it just looks SO much better tooo !

Yes, I've seen the clips. It does look like the movie will have a bit more meat to it and less of an indie feel. I don't think I'll go at midnight, but an 11 a.m. matinee opening day sounds about right.

I just saw the first one on DVD it was amusing NEW generation's Buffy a bit more punch I will see it when Netflicks gets it in.I haven't read any of them yet still have a stack by the recliner I am reading before I get another stack!

I haven't yet read any of this series but I have heard a lot of hype on them. Thank you for a brief look at what they're all about. I know I'll end up watching these movies with my family because they'll rent them but I'm not sure I'll read the books.

I love Twilight. I read all the books and saw the movie and have it on dvd. I can't wait til my friends and I go see it in November!
