Halloween Kitty
Kitty's all ready for Halloween in her pumpkin costume!

Materials:
Worsted weight yarn -
about 1 1/2 oz. each of black and orange
Small amount green
US crochet hook size F
Polyfill
Pipe Cleaner (any color)
Yarn needle
Finished size is estimated at about 5 - 6 inches tall.
Notes: Do not join rounds unless indicated. Mark the beginning of each round with a stitch marker or scrap of yarn.
Body
Rnd 1: With orange yarn and starting at bottom of body, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (18 sc)
Rnd 4: (Sc in 2 next sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (24 sc)
Rnd 5: (Sc in 3 next sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (30 sc)
Rnd 6: Work sc in back loop only of each sc around.
Rnds 7 - 12: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 13: (Sc in next 3 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around. (24 sc)
Rnd 14: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 15: (Sc in next 2 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around. (18 sc)
Rnd 16: (Sc in next sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around. Join with a sl st in next sc, fasten off. (12 sc)
Stuff body firmly.
Head
Rnd 1: With black yarn and starting at top of head, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (18 sc)
Rnd 4: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 5: (Sc in 2 next sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (24 sc)
Rnds 6 - 9: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 10: (Sc in next 2 sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around. (18 sc)
Rnd 11: Sc in each sc around.
Rnd 12: (Sc in next sc, decrease 1 sc over next 2 sc) repeat around. (12 sc)
Rnd 13: Sc in each sc around. Join with a sl st in next sc, fasten off.
Stuff head firmly.
With a length of black yarn, sew head and body sections together.
Ears (Make 2)
Row 1: With black yarn, and starting at top of ear, ch 2, 2 sc in 2nd ch from hook, ch 1, turn. (2 sc)
Row 2: 2 sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn. (4 sc)
Row 3: Sc in each sc across, ch 1, turn.
Row 4: 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in last sc. Leaving a length of yarn for sewing, fasten off. (6 sc)
Sew ears to top of head.
Arms/Legs (Make 4- 2 for arms & 2 for legs)
Rnd 1: With black yarn ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: (Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) repeat around. (9 sc)
Rnds 3 - 7: Sc in each sc around. At the end of rnd 7, join with a sl st in next sc, fasten off.
Stuff and sew opening closed.
Sew arms to sides of body to align with ears over rnds 10 - 14.
Sew legs to bottom of body over rnd 6.
Muzzle
Rnd 1: With black yarn ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (6 sc)
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
Rnd 3: Sc in each sc around. Join with a sl st in next sc, fasten off.
Sew muzzle to center of face over rnds 8 - 12, stuff before closing.
With a length of green yarn, embroider eyes over muzzle, with a length of black eye stitch a pupil in center of each eye. With a length of orange yarn, embroider nose and mouth onto muzzle.
Tail
Note: Counting rounds is not important for tail.
Rnd 1: With black yarn and starting at tip of tail, ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook. (6 sc)
Work remainder of tail by working sc in each sc until length of tail measures about 4 inches long. Join with a sl st in next sc, fasten off.
Fold pipe cleaner in half and insert into tail opening, bent end first. Clip ends of pipe cleaners to about 1/4 inch and insert into bottom back of body. Sew tail into position.
Weave in all loose ends.
Vine
Note: Dc dec = Yo, insert hook, yo, draw lp through, yo, draw through 2 lps on hook) twice, yo, draw through all lps on hook.
With green yarn, ch 3, *work [dc dec, ch 2, sl st in top of last dc dec worked, dc dec, ch 2 and sl st] all in 3rd ch from hook (one leaf made)**, ch 12. Repeat form * until there are 5 leaves made, end last repeat at ** Weave in loose ends.
Wrap vine around kitty's neck...but not too tightly!!
