I know people who are not big on watching TV. I can certainly understand it. I actually went for a couple of years without the benefit of TV. I did not enjoy it. I have a friend in Dayton who does not watch TV. She doesn't really let her kids watch it either. She says it turns their brains to mush. I'm not so sure. I guess it really depends on the way you look at things.
I love TV... it's cheap entertainment. I'll concede that it's not so cheap if you have cable (and we do). I do enjoy programs that are on exclusively Cable/satellite channels (like Syfy, Biography, HGTV etc.) .... I am however really really looking forward to this year's up coming season. I've been left hanging on soooo may shows I'm really looking forward to the resolutions. Most of what I watch is on CBS.. The only things that I watch that are not on CBS are Extreme Makeover: Home Edition (ABC - Sept 27) and Law and Order (NBC - Sept. 25).
I'm a long time Law and Order fan... though I don't find it nearly as entertaining as I used to. I am looking forward to it's 20th season which means it will tie Gunsmoke for the longest running TV drama.
We watch only two comedies: Two and a Half Men (9/21) which is usually funny, but can get a little raunchy at times. Charlie Sheen is a riot. However, the jokes are getting old and redundant. I'm really not sure how much further it can go.
And the Big Bang Theory: Being married to a man who has a PhD in computer science an who has friends that have personalities similar to the cast, I find this show over the top funny. Yes, my husband's personality is very similar to both Sheldon and Leonard. There are times when some things go over his head, and other times when he goes so far over mine I'd need a helicopter to reach it.
And then there are all the crime dramas that CBS is offering. NCIS, NCIS: LA, Criminal Minds, CSI: NY, CSI, The Mentalist, Numbers and Cold Case are the ones we watch. I am sad to see Flashpoint leave. I really enjoyed that one.
I haven't watch a medical drama in years, so I'm really looking forward to Three Rivers with Alex O'Laughlin (Oct. 4). I liked him a lot in Moonlight and I think he will do a fine job in this show as well.
These are the shows I'm looking forward to..... what are you looking forward to? or are you?
