Another Feature at RedGage!

I was thinking it would be awfully nice if we could get RedGage to start uploading content from Gather... Any chance of that happening?

You can use the link button. Copy your 'link' from Gather, then on Redgage upload the link.

I know, but then people have to bounce over here to see it, and a lot of people don't like going from page to page. It's handy with pictures, I guess (or albums, really), but it's not too hard to just copy and paste an article from Gather into a new article on RedGage. But Gather is a social networking site too. If they can link to facebook, why not Gather?

You would have to ask Jay or Liz. I don't know. Maybe they just haven't gotten around to it, or maybe they don't plan to. I really don't know.

Well, you would think they would do it when they got a chance because everyone is either reposting or linking to gather anyway. Most people don't post articles on Facebook or Twitter, but on the same token, most people on RedGage aren't really looking for status updates, either.

Congrats on your feature. I couldn't get redgage to work for me then the virus started going around and I dumped it pronto.

That's a bummer. I heard a little something about a virus, but I'm not worried. I protect my computer pretty well, and can handle it if something happens.

I thought the same thing, it only cost me $549.00 to replace my PC.

Why would you have to replace it? What exactly happened?

My boyfriend is a IT specialist, so he kinda takes care of that stuff and keeps me guarded pretty well. But i really haven't seen anything out of the ordinary there yet.

I didn't see anything unusual either, at first, but by the time I knew something was wrong it had disabled my antivirus but made it look like it was still working and by the time I did catch it (when I tried to update my virus data and it couldn't do it) my hard drive was destroyed and most of my componets were fried or on the verge of it.

The only reason I know it was redgage is because I also referred friends there and we all went down around the same time with the same symptoms and then when I took it to my repairman the first question he asked was if I had used redgage in the last month and then told me it could not be repaired.

If you try to unsubscribe from redgage usually they will email you to try to get you to stay, ask others who have done it. When I told them the reason I wanted to unsubscribe because of a virus on thier site they did it immediatly no questions asked and no requests to stay with them.

The PC that got destroyed was a 2 week old HP with all the bells and whistles as far as security goes, everything was up to date and it didn't matter, whatever was there killed my PC.

A word of advice, when people ask you to come look at thier stuff unless you know them don't do it and don't hook up as friends to them either. I was told this is the most likely way it happened

Geeze! I've heard of viruses like that, but never actually seen one. That's pretty vicious.

They didn't even say anything about the virus or apologize or anything? I can't believe that!

I'm not connecting with anyone I don't know. Actually, I haven't really read any articles from people I don't know either, and I probably won't go randomly clicking around there either.

No apology (that would be an admission of guilt) just a one liner in an email saying I had been successfully unsubscribed.

The way it was explained to me is that someone could have uploaded a virus infected file or image, invited folks to come see it and after a little while removed the file or image and replaced it with one that is not infected but looks identical. They can keep switching it back and forth and not get caught for a long time if ever. Just be careful Samantha.

Do you have any idea how they pick the features? This was just one of those surveys that go around and I filled it out about my Harry Potter favorites. It's something they pulled off of Facebook, actually. I'm not sure why it was interesting enough to feature, but I'm glad someone got a kick out of it!

That's great! I had to quit RedGage.....they are finally cancelling my membership....I could NEVER get onto the web site......every time, my computer showed "aborted." I knew then that there was some big time problem and it was nothing to fool around with.......I got out of there quick, as I was afraid of a virus. Don't have time for it, anyhow, as I'm over at GSN most of the time, playing for all those great free gift cards!

Sorry about your RedGage issues. I've never heard of something like that. I'm glad it didn't cause any huge issues, though. Good look with your other cards, though!

For me I loved that site also and had one feature, actually I am facing some problem to download in that site, pretty slow to download and mostly failing to download the images.manmade76

Seriously? I don't have any problems at all. I'm still learning how to maneuver through the site, but that's just my own slow brain.

Have you tried contacting them at all for help?

Congrats to you. I had to many problems there. Heard about to many people getting viruses. Have a friend that lost her PC and can not afford another for some time. Even if you can afford a virus, why do it?
Glad for you really, but I wouldn't recommend that site to anyone.

Congrats. I thought about joining Redgage, but when I researched it I, too, found that there were a TON of complaints about viruses and such. Since I rely on my computer for so many things, including college, I decided that I just couldn't risk it.
