Miss Universe 2009

Miss Universe, the biggest and the most glamorous event in the world, which features some of the most beautiful women in the planet will takes place at Atlantis, Paradise Island resort in the Bahamas on August 23rd.

Contestants from more than 80 countries will compete each other for the prestigious 2009 Miss Universe title and will be judge in three categories - the swimsuit, evening gown and interview.

As of now in the online rating from the official site of the Miss Universe 2009, Miss Brazil Larissa Acosta is rank no. 1, getting 2.81 rating, followed by Miss Thailand, Miss Indonesia, Miss Guatemala and miss Peru in no. 5. But this online rating will not surely be the basis to be crowned as the Miss Universe 2009.

Who's going to take home the crown?

Just watch Miss Universe 2009 live on NBC and Telemundo at around 9 PM ET.

The winner of this beauty pageant will travel all over the world as an advocate for HIV/AIDS education, research, and legislation. Venezuelan native Dayana Mendoza is the reigning Miss Universe.

Co-anchor of Access Hollywood Billy Bush and Claudia Jordan of Celebrity Apprentice and Deal or No Deal, will host the pageant. Flo Rida will perform his successful hit Right Round and Jump during the Swimsuit Competition. Heidi Montag, David Guetta and Kelly Rowland is also set to perform on the pageant show.
