"the people don't want rationed care"

"the people don't want the government getting between them and their doctor"

"the people don't want death panels"

the people have rationed care right now!

the health reform I am supporting will take down the arrogance of big business

will take on special interest groups

will stop people from being dropped from the insurance coverage

will stop companies from denying care based on Pre existing conditions

will make medications more affordable (remember Bush's ban on Canadian drugs?)

this is what reform means

you can't argue against something by saying it will create the very thing we have right now

and finally what's worse

is that these companies target people who won't take the time to find out the facts

fact one:

they are in business (as in profit margin)

fact two:

they have lobbyists (who spin things for a living)

fact three:

they are counting on us being stooges

which brings me to my recommendation:

stop being a tool for big business

unless you make over $250K a year

and you donate $30,000 for a dinner with some politician

they don't give a rat's rear end about you

wake up America

you are NOT rich

you don't qualify as someone the conservative movement cares about

you want to know who qualifies?

the N.R.A. (conservatives are scared to death of them)

the teachers' union

big oil interests

Fox news

that's it

you're not rich

and they don't care about you

What the heck are you waiting for

an engraved invitation

fix health care now

or the next conversation we will be having

is when I help you set up a non profit

to solicit contributions for your medical expenses.

because I will do that

I don't care about your politics

I do care about your health

that's the way my momma raised me

to care and love others

what are you waiting for?

I agree that our current system is rationed. I think that one good step would be if we could shop for health insurance like we shop for car insurance. Having my insurance tied to my job is scary. If I lose my job, I lose my health insurance too, and so do my kids. If I change jobs, I have to learn a whole new set of "rules" for insurance. It's crazy.

One problem with shopping for health care is that most comapnies will only give you a basic over view of what they cover ini the selling process. Its more like this is what we have.....take it or leave it. Its nothing like shopping for a house or a car.

That is how it is for so many, if they lose their job they have lost their insurance. If there is a lengthy illness then their insurance from work kicks up a fuss. We re rationed so much now, our insurance companies give us a choice of which doctors. We should have the privilege to choose who we want to take care of us.

I had to save over a year to get teeth pulled. Now I am saving to get dentures. I also have to save to get new glasses for me and hubby. I would call that health rationing. I won't even think of going to dr for check ups.

I agree completely. The health care reform opponents can only spread doubt, fear, and confusion because there's no rational reason not to have universal or near-universal coverage.

I read somthing on Salon.com today where the late British PM, Winston Churchill, sowed the seeds for what bacame the UK's National Health Service. Drop that little fact in your conservative friends' ears!

It's OK to ration health care when large corporations are making money. I don't know how it could be any clearer. Let's face it, we have a sacred duty in this country to insure that the revenue stream for large corporations is wide, deep, and uninterrupted. It's grammar school civics, right?
