It seems the ACLU will take about up such about any cause and will defend anyone’s and everyone’s rights except Christians. In their latest attack against an individual’s right to worship as he or she chooses , the ACLU has help initiate charges against two career educators over a prayer offered at a luncheon honoring former school booster club members who had helped fund a new filed house at Pace High School in Santa Rosa County in Florida. Principal Frank Lay and Athletic Director Robert Freeman are now in a fight for their freedom and their careers because Principal Lay asked Freeman to bless the food at the luncheon.
The ACLU will fight for a Nazi’s right to march and spew his hate, but a person can’t choose to pray because it might upset non believers. This organization was once a great thing but now it has chosen to be anything but defenders of justice.

If it seems that way to you, then my guess is that you don't really know much about the ACLU. The ACLU has defended the rights of Christians numerous times.
"In their latest attack against an individual’s right to worship as he or she chooses..."
Freedom of religion doesn't include a right for school officials to use their positions to "persistently and pervasively promote their personal religious beliefs in the public schools and at school events." According to the complaint, this has been going on for over a decade. It's time for it to stop. No public school student should be subjected to proselytizing in class or during extracurricular activities.
"Principal Frank Lay and Athletic Director Robert Freeman are now in a fight for their freedom and their careers because Principal Lay asked Freeman to bless the food at the luncheon."
No, they're facing a potential six-month jail sentence because they violated a court order.
If these "educators" have so little respect for the law and for the civil rights of their students, maybe they need to find a new profession. As preachers, maybe?
ACLU aside, no one can stop anyone from praying. As far as I know, no one has tried to stop anyone from praying. People only want to stop those who think others have to "observe" their prayers. If you believe in God, you believe he knows your heart. Pray in silence - any time, any place.
It was a school-related event, there were students present, and it doesn't matter if anybody is forced to pray or not.
"The ACLU is the one that pushed for the contempt order and now these two guys will go to jail for praying. That to me sounds idiotic."
What seems idiotic to me is that this school district has systematically violated the rights of the children in their care for over a decade, and even with the legally-binding voluntary agreement to stop, these two characters have refused to do so.
