Primary school pupil dies at the age of 90

Kimani Nganga Maruge, Kenya's and world's oldest primary school pupil, has died at the age of 90.

He held the Guinness World Record for being the oldest person to start primary school at the age of 84.

As the BBC writes, Mr. Maruge "never had the opportunity to go to school when he was younger."

He began his primary school education in 2004, a year after the government of Kenya introduced free primary schooling.

At the time of his death, he had two years left to finish his primary education.

I wonder, at that age & all, why someone would feel the need to shake up life & "start over"? I like to think that when I am 84 I will be content to sit back & let things be :)

He was not a slow learner... he never had a chance to go to school until he was 84.

I see it as being positive and wishing to improve upon his life and mainly, he was exercising an important right and the freedom to do so. It must've given him hope and pride to do such.
