Yay me. I am very tired and sore, but overall I survived. Technically though it was only four days, since they didn't start training until Tuesday, but still. The first two days they mostly only had us new people (there were 5 of us on Tuesday and 6 on Wednesday) stocking books, filling online orders and learning where different things are. Thursday the managers decided that each of us new people were gonna be on cash for an hour each so that we could get some hands on experience doing that and today we did the same thing again.
Next week is when it's going to start getting crazy busy, so they want us to be as prepared as possible. Plus I managed to get my shifts switched for next week. I was scheduled to start at 6 a.m., however I found out that neither of the two buses I have to take to get to the school run early enough, so one of the girls I work with (Rebecca) had said she would rather take the 6-2 shift. I was prepared to take a cab to work each day (would have cost me about $100 in cab fare)...I didn't discuss the issue with manager though before today because 1. they said before that they preferred people not to switch shifts around and 2. with it being my first week I didn't want to complain and be a pain in the butt. But this afternoon Sue (one of the managers overheard Rebecca and I talking about my having to take a cab and the approximate cost and she told me to go talk to the manager who does the scheduling so I did and without hesitation they switched it. So i no longer have to work the 6-2 shift and will instead get to work 12-8, which is much better hour-wise for me since I am without a doubt NOT a morning person...lol...
So aside from my shoulders popping, my neck and back being in spasms and being unbelievably tired right now, everything went well this week and I'm pretty sure next week (and the next 4-5 weeks) will go pretty well.
Who knew textbooks were so darned heavy? One of my big jobs today was removing books and texts from about 25 shelves and I am definitely feeling that in my shoulders right now. But then again it doesn't take much for my shoulders to bother me because of my fall last summer down the stairs, so I'm used to it and it doesn't bother me too much.
I'm sure next week (and the next 4-5 weeks) will go pretty well, even if it crazy busy and whatnot.
Yeah this post is probably like all over the place, but I'm tired so it'll have to do...lol

i had one customer today who is taking one the medical programs...not sure exactly which one, but she paid about $1100 today and that's not even all of the ones she'll need for 2nd semester...it was crazy
I dread to see what it's going to cost for Pher's college books.
even a few years ago when i had to buy books mine were never that bad for one book...and most the ones that i needed that were over 100, were ones i used the whole year and in some cases even the entire program
I spent about $1000 a year on books.
i had a customer today mention that they were able to get some of their books through chapters and that it was considerably cheaper than what we were carrying them for
I know, I'm spoiled
