I was prompted to post these pics by Kathryn who posted some pics of Big Sur.
I love the place, i lived there back in 1967-8 and feel it quite the magical place.
In 1967, when I discovered it after the Monterey Pop Festival, it was like no where on earth, to me anyway. Over the years, the drive to San Francisco was always punctuated pleasantly by a stop-over in the area.
In 1997, my husband, Gordon and I drove up for the birthday of a friend and the 30th anniversary of the Summer of Love.
The Fortieth has now come and gone, oh my!
I hope you enjoy the photos of Big Sur, San Francisco, Morro Bay's famous rock and so forth.
The sea lions basking on the beaches shows how laid back it all is!
Enjoy.

Henry Miller lived at Big Sur later in life and he wrote a cool book, "Big Sur and the Oranges of Hieronymus Bosch," but keywording "miller," big," and "sur" turns up some stuff well worth turning up.
Thanks for the beautiful piece.
Thanks for this!
I had an old VW camper bus and used to wander the coast road staying at campgrounds and turnouts. I climbed up some of the dirt roads in the National Forest and found some awesome view sites to park the bus for a night. Took in a dip in the baths at Easlan on the after midnight special admission a time or two also.
It's just one of those places, unique unto it's self.
Do you camp down at Fernwood?
It is tough having to make a living any where, artisans and cafe owners seem the only work going!
