What I find amusing is the blind faith of following Big Barry. If he says it, it is truth, no room for doubt. Do not speak against him or you are a racist. Don't question his policy, or you are un-American.

Yesterday the "birthers" were raising Cain, today the Medicare clients, like me, are demanding that the government stay out of their health care. WHAT IS NEXT? Will the John Birch Society experience a revival? (It has already raised its ugly butt in the health care debate.)

Given that the birthers are an extremely small portion of the right, I don't think it's quite accurate to say "vast right wing conspiracy."

Still, for what it's worth, what you've produced above is the equivalent of what the President has provided so far--a photocopy posted online.

AC W. I expect that you will prove that you are in the country legally now, by posting a copy of your long form birth certificate on line. IF you are unwilling to do that, go back to wherever you were spawned. (don't take this too seriously) But Obama was confirmed as President by the US Congress meeting in Joint session with Vice President Dick Cheney Presiding in January of 2009. The record is clear. He was confirmed by the Congress as President, and Joe Biden was confirmed as Vice President. And DICK CHENEY presided over the proceedings.

Missing the point here. The point is to show how dumb it is to put stock in someone showing and waving a copy of a birth certificate from Kenya and claiming that to be used as proof.

Obviously, anyone can wave one from anywhere.

Where did I call on the President to do that? For the record, I believe President Obama to be the lawfully and legitimately elected President of the United States. But that doesn't change the fact that in response to the numerous questions about his place of birth, the President has only posted a photocopy online.

Does that matter to me? No, and I'll explain why in a moment (in my reply to April).

Yes, I'm sure he did as well, April. One would suspect that the FEC requires proof of citizenship when one files the necessary paperwork required to run for President. However, what the birthers claim (and I have not found anything yet to prove them wrong) is that neither the FEC nor President Obama has provided any documentary evidence to prove his eligibility.

Does he need to? I don't know. I suspect that's up to the courts, and so far the courts are siding with the President, and probably with good reason. Still, the fact remains that the President himself could clear all of this up in about two seconds by producing a birth certificate. Then all doubt is removed. He has chosen not to do that for reasons unknown to us. Maybe he thinks the whole damned thing is so stupid that he refuses to entertain it. I could certainly appreciate that position. In fact, that's my guess as to why he refuses to provide documentation, refuses to allow the hospital in Hawaii to release his birth certificate, and sends his lawyers to court to file motions for dismissal instead of proving his accusers wrong.

In this country hospital don't release birth certificate. Once they file it with the city clerk, they are done. Nobody ever goes to a hospital to ask for a birth certificate.

First, as I said above, I don't care. I think this whole issue is ridiculous. But to answer your comment, I'll give you what I've read / seen, for what it's worth.

What I've read / seen is that when President Obama was born, Hawaii allowed anyone to show up at a hospital with a newborn and get a certificate of live birth, but not a birth certificate. There was no way to know where the baby was born, but those were the laws Hawaii was operating under at the time.

To my knowledge, that is where the controversy comes from. The so-called birthers want to see proof that Obama was actually born in Hawaii (a birth certificate) instead of a document that would have been granted if he had been born anywhere else (like say, Kenya) and brought to a hospital in Hawaii (a certificate of live birth). That's what I've heard.

In Hawaii, the person who was born (President Obama) or an immediate family member can request an original certificate from the hospital. That's what the state governor said when she was asked about it: Hawaii law prohibits the state or the hospital from releasing the certificate, but the person born or the immediate family could request it.

I just looked at mine. It doesn't say "Birth Certificate", it says "Certificate of Live Birth". Oh, and it's a copy. The original is on file in the state where I was born. Does that mean I was born in Kenya?

You don't have anything but a copy Raven? I hope you're not applying for a passport anytime soon. You'll have to have more than a copy. You'll have to have a real certificate with a raised seal. I have mine. It was simple. I asked for it from the hospital where I was born and they gave me an actual certificate with the seal embossed on it.

Maher is not speaking for the President. The president cannot lower himself to the level of a high school dropout who masqueraded as a governor until she could not hack it anymore (boy isn't she easy target. Can't wait for her to run in 2012).

In theory, or in reality, Alan. I went to a JC before transferring to a university, and both times I had to show high school transcripts that proved I had graduated.

You can get into a JC with a high school diploma or a GED. So yes, you can get into a JC w/o a high school diploma.

But GED's are considered an equivalent, right? The end result is the same--graduation. I believe the implication above was that she had not graduated.

Seems like a lot of you and Bill Maher are missing a big point. Even if Sarah Palin didn't graduate HS, it is not a prerequisite for becoming Governer of Alaska:

.....or a Vice Presidential candidate:

She qualified for both, HS diploma or not.

I like the Kenyan birth certificate. I was born on Saturn and my birth certificate burned up one day when I accidentally opened the case. It wasn't made to stand up to an atmosphere containing as much oxygen as Earth's. I've tried to get a vault copy but you haven't dealt with bureaucracy till you've dealt with bureaucracy on Saturn. For one thing on Saturn folks' metabolisms run a lot slower than here. It can take a year to check out at a convenience store. Getting copies of government documents can take Earth decades.

Although I don't necessarily believe the birth certificate issue is going anywhere, Obama could put an end to all this by just producing it. What I do find suspect is that many other records encompassing Obama's life are being withheld from the public also. Much money is being spent to suppress access to these records, some of which could shed some light on the messiah's true ideology. Check this link:
