I would love to start this review off by telling you that I love Boston Market because I want to serve my family healthier meal choices for those times when we are on the go. What better way is there for me to show my family I care about them then to serve them the delicious fresh meals that Boston Market offers? Their signature rotisserie chickens are all natural. There are no artificial flavors, colors or preservatives added. While everything I mentioned is true that is not the reason I love this place. I do love my family and care about their health so this is all a bonus for me but frankly I am fairly lazy. If I can get out of cooking I will.
My laziness makes this place ideal for my family. There are so many delicious options to choose from. No more fighting over who gets which piece of chicken. When we buy the individual meals we get to choose which parts of the chicken are our favorites. If some of us are not in the mood for chicken they also have beef brisket, roasted turkey, meatloaf and pastry top chicken pot pie. Each individual meal includes two regular sides and a cornbread. My favorite sides are the cinnamon apples, sweet potato casserole and fresh steamed vegetables. The menu also offers family meals, ala carte items, Boston Carver sandwich combos, salads, soups and desserts. Did I mention they also have individual meals for kids under ten? With my grandson living here this becomes an important factor. He informs us that 5 ½ year olds are too big to be sharing meals with their parents or grandparents. Lucky for us the kids selections are all under $4.50 and come with a soft drink or milk, cornbread and a kid’s size side. The family meals are the option with the most value but the individual meals are quite reasonable.
A Gather friend, Henry asked if anyone would be willing to write a review for him if he mailed them out some coupons. He is a bzzagent and was chosen for the Boston Market campaign. I am also a bzzagent and had wanted to do this campaign. When Henry offered the coupons I jumped at the change believing I had not gotten the campaign. Somehow my wires got crossed and I received my buzz kit the same day that Henry’s coupons arrived. You know what that means? I have another excuse to not cook supper. It just would not be right to disappoint a friend.
Last week I used a coupon for $3.00 of any purchase of $6.00 or more. Sweet deal! Jr was thrilled because the coupon convinced me to allow him to finally get his own meal. He chose a chicken drumstick with a side of mashed potatoes, cornbread and milk. I have to say it was a big hit with him since he ate every bite. I decided to go with the roasted turkey which comes in two sizes regular and large. Of course I opted for the large pretending I could have any leftovers for lunch the next day. I knew the chances of there being anything left on my plate were pretty slim. I always select the sweet potato casserole and usually the cinnamon apples. I stuck with the sweet potato but decided on the fresh steamed vegetables. The vegetables were perfect. Not too crisp and not a bit soggy. The turkey was incredibly moist and absolutely delicious. Without realizing it my selection was one of the healthiest ones available. Sorry to say but unlike Henry's review mine does not include pictures. When I remembered that I wanted to take them the food was all gone.
