After last nights Sexy Question of the Day I was left feeling empty and sad because I didn't have the power to grant any wishes so along with a temporary bout of depression I thought this song to be appropriate for the way that I feel.

The wish question Sophie. I felt overwhelmed and powerless when hearing all of the wonderful wishes that our fellow Gatherers had. So much so that I cried the better part of the day and night over what I could not do.

LeeAnn ~ Rick asks me sometimes why I am so depressed or why I am crying and I tell him about this or that person on Gather who had this or that happen or had a loss in their family or had family in the hospital, etc., etc., and he can not understand why I would even care since I don't personally know any of you.

I may not know any of you face to face, but to me, you are still people and as long as I have a heart beating in my chest I will continue to care and love and try to help all who I can help. That is just the way that I am and I hope that I can continue to be this way til my dying days.

Wow! That was like waking up Christmas morning and finding a gift under the tree just for me! I absolutely love Joe Cocker and even wrote an article about him once. And there's ol' Leon in the back playin' his pie-annie! Thank you, thank you, for the wonderful song and thank you, thank you for being you!

Joe Cocker and Leon Russell were quite a team back then. I loved Leon in this video because of how he comes into the song at the end and counts Joe down on the song. It is so cool!

I realize that not everyone loves Joe Cocker nor his voice but to me, he has always remained one of my all time favorites. His passion and emotion that he puts into all of his songs is what I really enjoy and especially his almost spastic movements.

I am happy that you enjoyed this Cathi. You know I would do anything for you.

There have been probably a couple of times in my entire life when I have felt sorry for myself. It is unacceptable behaviour in my belief. I was brought up not being permitted to do so.

Esther dear ~ was it anything I said on the phone last night? I hope not. I tried to cheer you up. We'll have to talk again, and soon. Remember, I said I have a couple of ideas for you for Sexy Question.....they could be a hoot for people, just not for me and remember...do NOT give me credit for them - heheheh -

I love this song ~ I prefer the Streisand version. I LOVE singin' the blues....don't get many opportunities, except in the tub...since I mainly do weddings and funerals :-)

Nothing you said on the phone last night could have possibly caused my depression. If anything it gave me the push to take those darn meds that I forget to take too often. I hate having to take meds but if I don't this is what happens. I get too down and cry at the drop of a hat. Terrible for anyone who is around.

Love Streisand too. I can sit for hours just listening to her belt out her tunes. Of course I have to be in the mood for her.

Too bad you don't get the opportunity to sing the blues more often. If it were my funeral, I would get you to sing a blues song for me.
