I go home to PA a couple of times a year and try to visit the cemetary at least once a year. While there I go to my grandparents' and great grandparents' graves except one - my dad's paternal grandmother. My great grandfather died when my grandfather was two and my great grandmother remarried. I knew she was buried in the same cemetary but never knew where exactly. I could never remember her married name. My dad couldn't remember it either. Every time I'm there, I say one of these days I'm going to find her grave. When I go, it's usually last minute so I never had time to call my cousin to meet me there to show me where it is. She used to go with our grandma when we were younger to help her plant and water the flowers.
On Sunday, my parents and I went to the cemetary. I made my rounds on one side of the cemetary where my dad's family and my mom's dad's family are buried. While there I took a few pictures of other headstones. I took this picture and we headed back to car to go to the other side.

When we got back to my parents' house Sunday night, I pulled out the pictures my mom took from my grandma's house before it was put up for sale. While going through the pictures, I found this one of my great grandmother's grave. I believe this is her second husband in the picture. I showed the picture to my mom and the first thing she noticed was the picture of the little girl on the headstone next to her grave. Yep, I was standing right next to her grave and didn't even notice!

We went back on Monday before heading to the airport.

I've been laughing about it ever since.

Oh my, and your great grandmother's headstone is beautiful as well.........what a very lovely name, and such a beautiful photo! She was soooo young when she died, wasn't she? I love the photo of her husband at her grave!
Thanks so very much for sharing! This is really incredible, and I so love the photos!
Thank you for posting to Statues and Headstones.
There was one of my Maternal grandparents sisters grave that they couldnt find. I had the old Bible. It was becaus she had remarried and had a different name than what they knew. When I told them the name, it wasnt hard to find. Ours is a small Church and Cemetary.
I'm so glad you found her grave!
