Teen Choice Awards last night and Miley Cyrus

I'm sorry. I don't know what she wore or how she danced. I missed the whole thing.


I remember when Britney Spears became popular when she was 16 or so, wearing that revealing outfit and acting too adult-ish while singing "One More Time" or whatever it's called.
Someone will always misbehave and not act like the rolemodel they are.

Just remember that Brittany Spears started out as a sweet, young teen singer, too. Look what fame and fortune has done to her. Sad, isn't it?

Fame often corrupts. Sad but true. But heck, regular teenage life these days is a scary thing. Lots of inappropriate dress and action. :/

I hate when people hold teenagers to such high standards because they are "role models". She's a kid herself- who are you to be making her responsible for your kid's development? I am not even a Miley Cyrus fan, but I have not liked this type of argument about any of the successive pop princess in my lifetime. I haven't seen what Miley Cyrus was wearing there, but I would guess that saying it was inappropriate for a 16 year old may be off base. Almost everything I wore when I was 16 was low-cut and tight. And I am not messed up as a result, I am a Dean's List college student at a good school. When your 7 year old is 16, you will find out that very many 16 year olds (and younger teens) have sex, get drunk, dress sexy, and dance slutty. I did. My friends did. Some do hard drugs, too. And fame isn't even a prerequisite. 16 isn't as young as you think. Miley Cyrus shouldn't be expected to live her life with the innocence of a 10 year old just because she has fans that age. Plus, a 7-year old does not realize that there is anything sexual about how their favorite singer is dressing or singing. I remember being such a huge Spice Girls fan and it never even occurred to me til my teens that they were dressed slutty or that many of their songs had sexual content. As a little kid I loved the Spice Girls, but it didn't mean I wanted to show cleavage and act provocatively. It meant I wanted to have "girl power" and sing along to their Cd in my room. Don't worry about things so much and don't act like sex appeal for celebrities is something new.
