An animated video aired on Brazilian national TV and commissioned by SOS Mata Atlantica, a group devoted to preserving the Atlantic rainforest, has caused a storm of interest in the country, writes the British Telegraph.
The video shows Mahatma Ghandhi, King Kong, the Statue of Liberty, and a number of other people and characters "relieving themselves behind a semi-transparent shower curtain."
SOS Mata Atlantica says "each person can use up to 4,380 liters (1,157 gallons) of water a year flushing the toilet."
Each time a person urinates in the shower, about 12 liters (3 gallons) of water is saved.
Atlantic rainforest "once covered Brazil's whole Atlantic seaboard but only around 12 per cent now remains."

I'm a woman, and even I can aim my pee down the drain in the shower. It's not that hard. Besides, there are a bunch of green disinfectants out there that you can buy or make yourself. You don't need anything fancy.
Urinating is a huge waste of water.... but so is washing clothes and taking a shower. I have no ideas how to save water washing clothes other than washing as large of loads as possible. Some people use over 80 gallons of water taking a shower.... There are water saving shower heads... adn you can change how you take a shower to reduce water consumption down to 20 gallons or less. Washing dishes in the dishwasher is another huge waste of water. Not only will these measures save water... but they will help get your life on a slower more meaningful pace.. and help you live longer.
I had never even thought about peeing in the shower until I read a survey that found that more women pee in the shower than men.
Unless one has a urinary infection, isn't it acceptable and safe to pee in the shower?
Sounds weird, but I'll bet it's actually not as weird as using 3 gallons of water, numerous times a day, just to flush away a half a cup of pee, each flush.
