We are nearing the season finale of Weeds and this episode gives us much to anticipate. When episode 9 ended Shane had been accidentally shot during an assassination attempt targeted at Esteban. Episode 10 (Perro Insano translate Insane Dog) begins with Cesar, Nancy, Esteban and Shane in the car driving to get medical help (no hospitals) for Shane’s gunshot wound. Audra patches Shane up and gives him some Percocet. Shane confides in Silas that he hasn’t taken any of the pain medication and likes feeling pain since it helps block out all other thoughts.
After a confrontation with Cesar, Nancy learns that she was the target of the gunman. Pilar wants her out of the picture and Cesar initially helps her to try to kill Nancy, but waivers and saves her life when he recognizes that Esteban would be lost without her. Nancy forgives him but shoots him in his right arm as penance for Shane’s wound.
Esteban and Nancy urge Silas to leave for his safety. Instead he decides to move into Esteban’s home and requests extra security. A new candidate has replaced Esteban in the race for governor and he is ready to give up his political career to be a family man, but Nancy encourages him to run as an independent candidate.
Doug tries to sell “You’re Pretty Cosmetics” in a booth next to a youth nature scout when one of Celia’s customers approaches his table and mentions that she’s been buying weed from Celia under the guise of make-up so her husband won’t know. Doug (slowly) realizes that Celia ripped the weed off from their dispensary and reaches out to Dean Hodes to make amends and get back at Celia. Celia, now out of her supply of weed, goes to Ignacio to ask him to be her supplier. He agrees for a cut of 20%.
Three important things happen in this episode:
- Esteban and Nancy marry
- Andy signs over the birth certificate in Nancy’s name
- Nancy goes to see Guillermo and asks him to kill Pilar
Nancy is not one to be pushed around and these three significant things signify that war is on with Pilar.
