Huntington Beach State Park, SC - Alligators

It seems the alligators are plentiful right now at Huntington Beach State Park, we have been able to get some nice photos of them in and out of the water.  Since I'll be going again tomorrow morning with Marianne R. I figured I should share these photos of the alligators I saw last week. 

We didn't see too many last week because of all the rain we had.  Tomorrow should be better, we haven't had any rain in a week and Marianne has seen a lot and has some wonderful photos to show for it.

We usually see 4 or 5 when we go to Huntinton Beach. They scare me to death. You got some great shots.

Great shots Nana - you are braver then me - I wouldn't want to be close enough to one to get a photo unless it was at the zoo and there were several barriers/cage seperating us!

It depends where we see them. There are two places where you can see them up close and personal. When they are in the water I am usually zooming in on them and I am probably anywhere from 20' or more. Once in a while I'll see them along the shore line and then maybe we are a little less than 20'. All the photos of the alligators are zoom shots and I've never felt in danger.
