How do you pronounce Raleigh?

How do you pronounce "Raleigh"?

(as in the city Raleigh, North Carolina)

 

Do you say "Ray-lee" or

do you say "Raw-lee"?

 

I'm thinking it probably depends on what part

of the country you're from.

 

I live in the southeast United States

and I say it - "Raw-lee". 

 

How do you say it?

I think it depends where you're from, too, and on your accent and everything. We say rah-lee.

I do not know the word so at first I thought it is pronounced as Ra-Lay.

I had always heard and said it "Raw-lee" or "Rah-lee", but some lady on a news broadcast had said "Ray-lee" and that made me wonder. Thanks for everyone's comments.
