The theatre was full for a 1:30pm matinee ... men and women.

Julie & Julia is one of those films that may not win any serious awards, though there are some deep moments, but if it does not make you laugh ... you weren't watching!
Julia Child, for those who don't know of her, was an OSS (pre-cursor to the CIA) "secretary" in Ceylon when she met her husband, Paul. After completing his OSS career, Paul joined the US Foreign Service. A posting to Paris set the stage for Julia to enter the famous Le Cordon Bleu cooking school. From this American audiences received the book Mastering the Art of French Cooking, and the wonderful PBS series,The French Chef and many subsequent programs.
Julie Powell, a writer (though, like many others, unpublished and not working in her profession) set a personal goal to cook through Mastering the Art of French Cooking in one year and blog about it.
This film takes pieces of the life of Julia, scenes from the year in the life of Julie, and invites us to discover what gives each of us joy, fulfillment, and a sense of accomplishment.
Great film for the girls but had the guys laughing too.

The nerve problem in my neck makes it rather difficult for me to sit for more than 15 minutes before the pain gets to me. I can't go to the movies because of this.
