On Day 32 (June 20, 2009) we went to the Detroit Tigers game at Comerica Park, as the 17th game/ballpark of our All the Ballparks Road Trip 2009. The Tigers have a decent ballpark even if they do not always have a great team. There is a lot to see around the main concourse and the food selection is pretty good too. Our seats were kind of cool almost right up close and personal with the giant scoreboard along with a good view of the field.
The architecture of the ballpark incorporates a lot of tigers statues. No mistaking what team plays here.

The Detroit Tiger's Statue of Liberty is near the carousel, which also has Tigers decor.

I am a Disney fan, so I thought it was cool to find a Mickey statue at the ballpark. I think it is from the set that was done for the 75th birthday of Mickey Mouse or something like that.

I think the helmet sundae I got at Comerica Park was one of the best of the trip, as it came with hand dipped Mackinac Fudge flavor ice cream and not cheap soft serve.
As we walked around the main concourse we came across the different little exhibits about each decade of Tigers history. Below are a few of them.

I really like this baseball fountain. If only I could have my own in my backyard. Yeah, that will never happen, but I can dream.

In the outfield part of the main concourse there are some statues of great Tigers players.

I think this baseball ferris wheel looks really cool and would have been fun to go on, but my dad and bro are boring and would not go on it.

This is the view of the scoreboard from our seats. It sure looks giant being so close to it.

This was the view from our upper deck seats. It was actually a pretty good view.
Below are some photos of the game.

Below are some photos of the end of the game.

Below are the mini bats and baseballs we got as souvenirs. My bro got a orange Detroit Tigers mini bat and a Comerica Park mini bat. I got a 25th World Series Anniversary ball and a Comerica Park ball.

This is the team logo sticker we put on the car to mark visiting Comerica Park. It is one of my favorites from the trip.
Read more about the Detroit Tigers game part of our road trip in my post on my trip blog here. I am now back from the trip and I am trying to catch up on the photo essays, but still most of the in depth information on our various adventures is on the trip blog. If you are at all into baseball and ballparks I think you will enjoy taking a look at my All the Ballparks Road Trip 2009 blog.
