I have heard of people keeping dream journals and sometimes using their dreams to inspire writing, but have you ever had a dream in which you play a part, but your image in the dream does not look anything like you?
I don’t know why, but I have had numerous dreams like that over many years. If family members are in the dream, I see them as they really are, but for some reason, that doesn’t seem to apply to visions of myself. The image I see is never the same twice, and does not look like anyone I know. Yet, somehow, I always know it’s me.
I’m sure a dream therapist would have some explanation for this. Although it puzzles me, I’m not concerned about it because when I awaken, I’m still intact and the mirror reflects the real me.
For today’s writing prompt, imagine that you awaken from a dream and as you go about your morning, you realize something is not right. When you look in the mirror, the face looking back at you is not your own.
Describe what you see, your reaction, and the reaction of the first person (or pet) you encounter.
Write it as narrative prose or poetry, and make sure to include “Friday Writing Essential” in your tag. There is no deadline for this prompt, but be sure to include a reference to it (or copy the prompt and paste it at the top of your submission) so readers will understand the motivation for your work.
As always, I look forward to your submissions.

I can try to dream what I wish for, but seldom dream what I wish.
My teenage daughter actually told me about lucid dreams, and supposedly, you can train yourself to have them. If you're interested, just Google "lucid dreams". I had never heard of it until recently, but there's a lot of relevant information about it on the Internet.
I wil follow up on that Google thing.
It seems I have the first part down pat, now to work on the rest.
I'd love to see what you'd do with it, Susan!
Marilyn
Do you have any idea who is behind these accounts? I don't think I've found all of them yet.
Here are the names so far identified by myself and James Ciriaco, who has also been targeted:

Yeah, things have been a little crazy around here, but we survived.
How are you (other than a busy person helping to fight intellectual property theft)?
I'm doing okay. Teaching my daughter to drive this summer. Scary.
I would be happy if I never moved again as well except this place is definitely not a forever place. The dogs are doing fairly well considering we're in an apartment and don't have a yard. That's a major change. There are so many new noises for them I actually heard Max howl today, which was a first and it scared the crap out of me. Luckily, it was very brief.
Oh, poor doggies! We haven't moved with Jada, so I never thought about how different noises would affect them. Hope they settle in soon. You too. :)
I look forward to reading your submission.
