On Tuesday, I checked out the clearance deals at my favorite CVS and found quite a few deals. Maybe you can find these at your CVS...or perhaps find even better clearance deals that you will share with us. My store does not have a specified clearance section. I found the following items on their regular shelves in the store:
1. softlips chapstick-lip gloss (this is in the oral care area) some were 75 percent off (making it $1); others were 90 percent off (making it about 40 cents if my math skills are right). I like this stuff and they make nice stocking stuffers.
2. Cold medicine...especially refills for things like the Neti-pott. I pot saline spray, cough drops, Sucrets sore throat medicine and more for at least 75 percent off.
3. A large selection of toys were marked 75 percent off, but I passed on these.
4. While summer merchandise was advertised locally for 33 percent off, I found several items, including beach towels, already down to 50 percent off. Summer toys were also 50 percent off and I bought some of these just because they were too cheap to pass up...jump ropes for 50 cents, etc.
The following items I found in grocery bins spread throughout the store:
T-shirts for $1. These have been $2. My store had a large selection.
A lot of the CVS-brand bath and body products for $1.50 (reg. $5.99 or so). I bought several of these to use as Christmas presents.
A bin of Nononsense hose and knee-highs for 75 percent off, making the hose about $1 a pair.
All kinds of suncare items from Neutrogenia and other brands for 75 percent off, making it about $2-3 a bottle.
A cart full of CVS-brand baby products for 75 percent off. I got some cotton balls and Q-tips for 25 cents. Not bad.
And, in case you do not know, the free gift for August is CVS chapstick.

My August gift was CVS pain medicine.
Last year they followed the same schedule more or less with the summer stuff, but when I checked on Monday they were still just at 33 percent.
