Introduction
I was driving one day and saw this corn stalk on the side of the road. The corn stalk does exist, around the corner from where I live. When I got home, I was brain storming and came up with a little story about the little corn stalk. I hope you enjoy it. God is everywhere and he does listen, even though you don't think he is listening. Thank you.

Through the Eyes of a Child~A Prayer Answered
Spring is here, planting season has begun. The farmers tilling their land and plant their seeds from soy beans to corn. Farm machines everywhere going on from dawn to dusk.
One day, a crow decided to take it upon himself to land in a farmers field and eat some of the seeds. The farmer saw the crow eating his seeds and took a broom to scare him away. Before he flew off he was able to get another seed into his mouth. As the crow was flying, another bird flew by and scared the crow, knocking the seed out from his mouth and it fell on the side of a busy road. Days went by, and the seed planted itself. It started growing bigger and bigger. People drove by, or people walking by, just never paid any attention to it.
On a bright Sunday afternoon, a little girl was playing on her front porch. She overheard her mother muttering to herself, that she was worried that there wasn't going to be enough food for them. After hearing her mother's concerns about feeding them, the little girl turned around and sat on the porch steps with her head resting in her little hands. She silently, looked up to the sky and prayed to God to help her mother.
After the little girl prayed, she grabbed a ball and resumed playing in the yard. When the ball rolled towards the road, she bent down to pick up the ball and caught sight of the corn stalk across the road. There weren't any cars anywhere since it was Sunday and everyone was either at church or somewhere else. The little girl went back to her house and got her mom's hand shovel, the one she uses for her garden, and a pot. She went back and dug up that lonely corn stalk and planted it in her back yard. Her mother saw her planting the corn stalk and asked her where did she get that corn. She told her mother she saw it on the side of the road and decided to take care of it. "It was by itself mom. And I want to plant it here and take care of it. It was lonely mom, please, can I take care of it." said the little girl. "Alright honey, but remember, you have to water it everyday or it will die." said the mother. The girl said, "Ok, mom."
So, the little girl watered the corn stalk everyday. Pulled the weeds that was beside it and took really good care of it. Soon, the corn stalk was so big that it started growing corn. The little girl was so happy that it grew so big. She asked her mom when can she pick the corn. Her mom said,"You'll know when the time is right. The top of the husk will turn dark brown, that's when you can pick it."
A few weeks went by, and the husk on the corn turned dark brown. That day was a special day, for it is her mom's birthday. The little girl picked the corn and started peeling it, and stuck it in a big pot on the stove. Her mom was outside in her garden weeding. Later that day, her mom came back inside because it was so hot. She saw that the table was set and corn was on the plates. The little girl jumped out and yelled, "HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!" Her mother was so surprised and so happy. "When did you do all this? asked her mom. "While you were outside in your garden mom" said the little girl. So, they sat down to eat the corn that the little girl took cared of. "This is the best birthday I have ever had." her mom said. "For we are out of food, and I didn't think we will have food today, which made me worry." "Mom, don't worry, I prayed God that he will bring us food, and he brought us that lonely corn stalk. So see, God answered my prayers mom. We have food on the table tonight." said the little girl.
God is everywhere, and he does answer prayers. In his own unique way, those prayers do get answered.

I wasn't sure.
Just wondering.
I really loved how the little girl got that stalk, planted it and took
care of it. Best part was setting it on the table for the birthday !!
