August 4th, 2009:
I figured out the easiest way to do the jigsaw is not so much piece by piece randomly around the globe, as you would do in a regular jigsaw, but starting from the South Pole in a long spiral, connecting one piece at a time. Of course beyond Antarctica we hit the Antarctic Ocean: but we wondered what would be the first bit of land we would hit? My bets were all on Australia (we always think of Australia as the Land Down Under) but in fact it was the tip of South America: Cape Horn (Tierra Del Fuego). It's a cold part of the world, so close to the south pole, and the icebergs there were a major hazard in voyages around the world before the opening of the Panama Canal. It looks som much easier when the scale is reduced and you're just looking at it as a jigsaw!

I have a friend who did the Titanic puzzle/model. (He was a real fan of the film.) One night, he was throwing a party and someone thought it would be funny to swipe ONE piece of the puzzle. (It wasn't me.)
The guy almost had a heart attack. Months went by. He searched for the piece. Then the guilty party produced the piece at the next party. There was nearly bloodshed.
This is really ... oddly ... cool to see in stages. Now where's August 5th and 6th??
that is cool!
So very cool.
(hey, Sandi and I think alike! Te he!)
Nice job, but how are you still sane? Hello? Hello?
