Weary timelessness of nothingness may ever
Meteor across the skies, my barren eyes to blur
In blue flames of sorrow beneath a widow’d star
To burn the ragged wings of future dreams.
Shall I spread my silver’d hope beneath your feet
And sprinkle sparkles truthfully to reach your eyes?
What have I lost, if giving all my heart, I sing
And know there will be someone that gave and lost.
But I will not dwell in towers of that dreaded doom
And count the tearful days on nameless graves.
I curse the tongue that lied and lied and lied
And sentenced to death the innocent that died.
But how upon our thrones of bricks and mud
With silenced voices like stones beneath the streams
So helpless, while evil powers change our course.
What have we lost but love that is forever?
The end of time I’ll spend in this forgotten valley
Scrawling words upon my furrowed face.
Wondering in the long forgotten shadows
Of stumbling souls of this, past noble race.
