I would like to request that positive thoughts, prayers, etc. (or whatever you believe) to be sent to my brother-in-law, Tommy and my sister, Kay (a member here). Tommy was severely injured today (2nd and 3rd degree electrical burns) and has had to be flown to a burn center in Augusta. My sister is making the drive alone to be with him because I can not get off work to be with them. Please keep them in your thoughts.

Thanks!!! (Kay, I know you will be online at some point. Wish I could do more. I love you both.)

I just want to thank you all again for your thoughts and prayers. I'll keep you updated.
Now, I have to get to work. Thanks again to all of you that have left your well wishes, sent prayers, and positive thoughts.....
Tommy had surgery and they replaced the skin on the hand with 3rd degree burns with cadaver skin. From what they can determine, he suffered no tendon or muscle damage! None of the doctors can explain WHY because they felt sure he would have some. Regardless, Tommy was able to go home and they just left a little bit ago. They have to return to Augusta in 7 days with an overnight (just in case) bag. At that time, they will remove the bandages and if any signs of infection or present he will be readmitted to the hospital. If Kay notices any s/sx infection, etc then she has an 800 number she has to call. But as of now, they are en route home! If they become overly tired, they promised to stop to stay overnight somewhere.
I am so excited how WELL he has done and I know we owe part to each of you! The other is because Tommy is one tough person :) Kay should be stopping in when she can, until then she wanted me to extend her heartfelt gratitude. So, again, many many thanks to each of you.
We are so blessed to have Tommy with us still. I am overwhelmed at the moment for lots of different reasons. Tommy has a long recovery but I thank GOD that he is alive and has a chance to recover. Many are not so blessed. We were told that 60% of people that have this kind of electrical burn die. The doctor told Tommy that he was "lucky" to be alive. We are home now, Tommy is sleeping soundly in his recliner. I am going to finish our supper and then I will get him to bed for the rest of the night.
Again, thank all of you very, very much for your prayers, support and words of encouragment.
Thank you all, again, for your prayers...thoughts....and well wishes. I hope each of you are having a great week.
