They only hear from the paid villains that place calls daily. These people are paid by insurance companies to make daily phone calls to the White House and congress men and women. In that respect, it's hard to compete. Hopefully congress will have the intelligence to realize that volume calls can be manufactured. It actually is. This whole thing is astro turf, purely synthetic, engineered by the makers of synthetic drugs, and delivered by paid wingnuts.
What can you do?
Still make your voice heard. If you representatives staffers are smart, they will be able to distinguish you from the thugs hired by the GOP with the money they get from Blue Cross, Cigna, and co.
Make a phone call, encourgage people to make a phone. Go to a town hall meeting, take your signs, and make your voice heard on health care.

They run the US Army. Is the Army a failure? Why don't wingnuts go on the record and say, the government can't do anything including having Armed Forces for this country? Do you want to turn that over to black water?
How about intelligence? Should we close down the CIA, pull out some contractors from the private and let them run intel?
Other big things the Fed government initiated and is running.
The Fed highway system. I was not around but i can bet the GOP was against putting a national highway system connecting the entire country. I am sure they wanted to leave to each state to put their own highway and expect them to be somehow connected at the end.
Bottom line, the GOP is against any big project that provides a leap into the next big thing. They did not want highway, they did not want space projects, and now they dont want health care.
Talking about a federal program? Social Security? Mandate participation, mandated stealing from the fund; Medicare/Medicaid going broke, but will steal from it to fund Obamacare/socialized medicine. Federal Reserve - Bailout - Stimulus - Economy - Fannie/Freddie, NAFTA/CAFTA NAU, SPP, endless wars - Treaty with Communist U.N. - Federal Income Tax (which is illegal) and yet they want to steal more - doubled national debt since Obama took office... those just off the top of my head,

Blackwater is a private mafia financed to the tune of $50 Billion by your Federal Govt. They now have more PRIVATE militia involved in Afghanistan and Iraq than we have U.S. military. They take the money, get paid big bucks, compliments of Uncle Sam and our military take the bullets.
And, this militia money is UNDER THE TABLE/OFF THE BOOKS when it comes to bills to support the military...

I resubmit to you everything that has to do with your safety and well being including the magement of the power plant that provide your enegy. you asked for ONE THING and I submit to you the US Army. Isn't that, with the men and women who serve in it, a thing? Isn't it a pretty big thing. Isn't the defense department the largest in size, budget, complexity, and can have lasting consequences in our lives including claiming the lives of 4000 Americans in 5 years? Who do you think is running such a complicated entreprise? WalMart?
No private entreprise is more complex than the US Army. Now, you can say, the government is not good at running for-profit entreprises. And as evidence you can submit the US Postal service vs. FedEx vs. UPS vs. DHL. And I would partially (75%) agree. Just don't tell me the government can't run anything because that's simply not true. In english, something that's not true, is a lie.

The reason the US government fails to run things adequately is because we've been electing people who hate government, who want to destroy government. That's right, republicans. They hate the government, they want to get rid of the government. Why have them run it?
The GOP has no hope to become a strong party again unless it sheds all the nut balls and starts to get serious about supporting the public. The GOP has no agenda except to suck up to big corporate lobby money.
The government runs things efficient until it privatises a service and that's where all the unneeded expense comes from. The postal service is a good example of privatizing a federal program and is the reason the postal mail is so expensive and unorganised, once private business management gets involved the expense of the federal service just grows and grows.
Put the pressure on democrats as well. If they don't get their act together, why not have republicans up there? We can have the "they control the house" tag on our backs and vote and act as if the GOP was in control. If things go wrong, the GOP will say "democrats were in charge." So why in the heck include them if it's not constructive?
