Hidden Words Say Nothing
Why do the words have to be hidden
can't their meaning be clear
why must we go on searching
when I already know you are near?
what is so hard in expression
in learning to say what you mean
in telling the person you love
that which others have already seen?
Why must we be mind readers
Just guessing at the truth
Wondering if it is really out there
Or just part of the Gin and Vermouth
Too many find it so easy
To insult, despise and demean
Yet few find it easy to stay
When I love you is on the scene
If you want me to know
Don’t make it so hard to find
You will find I am basically good
And I have a heart that is kind
Give me some time and honesty
And I will return it with so much more
Hidden words just carry no meaning
Losing the love you had in store.

Thanks ladies!!! HUGS
A dear friend taught me this so well.
Wise @$$, that's me !!!
Great poem -- we should all work toward that.
Thanks for your honesty George! HUGS my friend.
but I have been advised that sometimes words can have so many meanings, too.....
great job Lisa..............
I know that would never happen to you dear Randee....hee hee
We ALWAYS agree, except.....
Thanks! HUGS
Hidden words say nothing
Hidden emotions even less
Why do you not meet my eyes
Why do you make me guess
Life is too short for silly games
And all too soon we are gone
Why should I have to wonder
If you want me to come along
I tell you I love you
I tell you I'm here
You can see by my honesty
How much I truly care
Hidden words say nothing
Hidden emotions even less
Why do you not meet my eyes
Why do you make me guess
inspired by the Lisa's great poem above.
I see Chana did something similar.
pretty lady luna
So glad to have you back!
Actions speak louder than words, but sometimes it just needs to be said.
