This is in response to the article “The difference between a Republican and a Democrat. The author of the article attempts to paint Democrats as the evil of all evils, at the same time painting Republicans as the saviors of the Republic. What you think of the article probably depends on which side of the fence you live on. I thought that I would add some facts that the author forgot or intentionally omitted from her article. So I thought I would include some facts regarding the GOP and some of its members that tend to be overlooked. I would have posted some sort of rebuttal towards the contention of the posting but the author chose to prevent anyone with an opposing view from participating in the conversation. These are but a few facts regarding the Republican Party and its strong ties to racism.

The St. Louis-based, white-supremacist, Council of Conservative Citizens was founded in 1985 by Gordon Lee Baum and former activists in the White Citizens’ Councils that inundated much of the American South in the late 1950s and 1960s.The group, which until recently was almost unknown, preaches and advances the views and ideas of white supremacy and white separatism and is a great supporter of the GOP.
Why is it that the close ties that the GOP, its leadership and many of its members have to racism always seem to be glossed ?
