Well a friend of mine passed away a couple days back and I had written a poem and posted it on Myspace because alot of his friends and family are on there. He was only 26 years old and it was a shock to us all. I attended the funeral today and to my suprise, at the service the poem I had written was read aloud for the packed out funeral home. As the poem was read to the friends and family, the room went from quiet to the sounds of crying and emotion. The words brought out tears in almost everyone in the place. Here is the poem for you to see.
Jeremy,
Terrible news fills my ears,
My friend Jeremy is now gone,
We never went fishing, we never hung out,
Just a very pleasant person on the fly.
Such a young soul, bringing smiles to me,
Always courteous and in high spirits,
Now no longer around for us to enjoy,
What is this plan the lord has for you?
In a better place, now peering down upon,
Looking after all the ones, you loved so much,
No more hurt, no more grief or sorrow,
Yet we mourn so hard for the loss.
The lord has you now, right by his side,
In his sight and his glory you stand,
While we wait for our turn to join,
We miss you Jeremy, until then.
