Yep, as the title suggests, I remembered something. What was it? Before I tell you, let me give you a bit of background information. My older daughter is a property manager; she manages apartment buildings. More than that, she is more or less a troubleshooter. When her company is having trouble with a certain property, Tracy is sent in to unscrew it. She spends six to nine months at one property, getting everything running properly, training a new manager, and then she’s off to another.
I don’t know why, but about once a year she has to come down here to SoCal on business and she always finds time to stop by and see me. Sometimes it’s just for breakfast, sometimes for brunch, sometimes for lunch, and she occasionally gets to spend the night here.
Notice the timings? She always manages to be here for some kind of meal. I’m a right fair cook and, every time she comes to visit, I make something special for her. This trip, though, she messed me up by announcing that she was now a vegetarian! Okay, I went through my files and found a few things that didn’t contain meat, meat by-products, or meat fat of any kind.
She called me just after leaving San Diego last night which gave me a bit over an hour to get things ready and the timing worked out perfectly. When she arrived I was just finishing up dinner and I gave her the grand tour of my new house, which didn’t take too long as I only have four rooms! My little girl also brought me a present. From this picture can you guess my favorite beverage?
My normal day starts around four and, by eight p.m., I’m about done in. I usually go to bed and lie there reading until nine or so and then conk out. Not last night, nope, we sat at the table talking until around one in the morning.
I got to sleep around 1:30 and managed to drag my rear end out of bed about 5:30. Tracy slept until a bit before nine and we sat at the table and talked until she left around 11:30. It was a very enjoyable reunion and I look forward to the next time she's in the area.
Oh, the remembered thing: I remembered to put the seat down! I’m a single man, living alone, and my toilet seat stays up. Not only is it easier for me, but that’s the dog’s water dish. Whenever she gets a drink she always drips water all over the place and I don’t want it on the seat. But, for the past sixteen hours or so the seat has been down. I’m so proud of myself.
