After seeing the same group of people come in to infect a number of political threads with the same inanity, I decided to post my last comment as an article instead of repeating it on every thread.
If you pay close attention to the hateful, distracting comments being left in an attempt to distract intelligent discussion, you'll see that the anti-American puppets are doing what they're always instructed to do - projecting their guilt onto others. The most brilliant of Turdblossom's devious plans was to turn his brainless wonders loose and have them accuse the opposition of their sins and crimes, either before they pull them off, or before the news worms its way through the media and gets to people who aren't savvy or paying attention.
The people railing against President Obama are victims. They've been injected by the Turd, who knows they don't have the fortitude to change the channel or see the light, and that they certainly aren't smart enough to recognize or admit the truth when it comes around and bites them on the ass. They're so infected that they'll keep on spreading his venom long after he is insignificant (like syphyllis, he's the gift that keeps on giving) and after everyone who isn't also infected sees their scars and knows to back away.
Pay close attention to their accusations. They will most always be what the Republicans are being charged with or investigated for, or the next scandal to break about them. It's clever because it works on so many levels. It distracts from real issues that they can't discuss, it infuriates the opposition, it maintains his minions because they feel important for being able to distract and get attention, and, most importantly, it takes the wind out of the sails when news of their crimes and scandals breaks. It 'feels like' old news.
On the positive side, if we pay close attention to their accusations we will always know exactly what they are trying to hide.
As an exercise in preventative medicine, maybe we can list their accusations in the comment section below, and guess what the brainless wonders have unknowingly been sent to hide.
I edited to add the following definition of the term 'turdblossom', to correct the error in the first paragraph that nobody pointed out, and to clean up the title.
Turd Blossom From Wikipedia, the free encyclopediaTurd Blossom is a Texan term for a flower which grows from a pile of cow dung.[1] The term has gained notoriety in the United States, as reportedly this is one of former President George W. Bush's terms of endearment for his former chief political advisor, Karl Rove.[2] Bush is also reported to call Rove by the nickname "Boy Genius."[3]
In July 2005, several newspapers declined to run two Doonesbury strips portraying Bush addressing Rove by this nickname. [4]

Hey, did you get to check out the phone call I received last night? An actual turd pool and source of turd information dissemination phoned my house!
The receiver on my phone will never be clean again.
Em Jay, don't you know this is sorta like that marriage deal? If YOU get health care, and are allowed to live when you are old, how am I to protect the sanctity of MY health? There's only so much health and marriage to go around and I can't be sure I'll get as much as I want if you get some too.
The ultrasound is the definitive test. I do believe a mammogram is an unnecessary and dangerous medical procedure.
I will tell anyone that asks about breast exams that I have a man for that. He knows better than I do what they should feel like as he's had his hands on them for over 20 years. A friend of mine had a cyst detected using that method.(She has her own man for the job.) Sometimes it can get a little boring, but there is something to be said for long-term relationships.
They seemed to be fine when W turned a surplus into a grotesque, bloated behemoth of a deficit all his own, but dear God, let's not spend any money to alleviate human suffering. Notice they're fine with causing or perpetuating suffering.
Q. Why is the mortality rate in the US so poor compared to other industrialized nations.
Pat Tiberi - We have the best cancer survival rate in the US!
Yes. If anything makes this game worthwhile, this would be it.
Em Jay, are you serious?!?
So THATS who Palen has been taking lessons from. Now it's clear...
What shall we call them, Turdlets?
Shouldn't 'poles' be capitalized.
"I got a gal lives over in Polack Town. The snitches and the police done tore her barrelhouse down."--Blues verse used in many songs.
You mean they are bipolar? ;)
What really gets to me is that the biggest turds are also the ones that write articles and comments on how religious they are. And when you call them on the irony, they quote some turdacious, random scripture quote, always from the Old Testament, in total opposition to anything The Jesus would say.
Closed the door on a learning opportunity! WWTJD?
So true. And then they get angry if you point out the duplicity.
Are you talking about that racist Hussein who isn't even an amerikun siticon? Y'all know that's the only real and veryfinable thing we could find?
Big fat farts,
cry baby farts
loud mouth farts?
hennessy fox fart?
flower baby fart?
so many farts to choose from
(You do know that Bush called Rove Turdblossom, don't you? I didn't make that up.)
You hit the nail on the head girl, with that one!! I have been sayin that for a long time now and it is very very true!
Whatever the ignorant know-nothings in the GOP identify as their "virtue", is the very thing that they have failed to demonstrate.
Family Values? Freedom from Big Government? Fiscal Responsibility?
Ummmmm, right.
I'm railing against Obama, and I'm not influenced by Rove. I think he's evil incarnate. I don't watch Fox News except once in a while for laughs, have the same attitude about Rush and the other participants in the conservative echo chamber, I don't care for Cal Thomas and other conservative commentators. Can't stand Republicans, but now I can't stand Democrats either.
I rail against Obama because he's carrying on the Bush war tradition, hiring more mercenary soldiers, expanding our "wars," shielding the torturers and preserving the structure for black site torture, etc. Sure he's done some good things with stem cells and women's right to choose and means well about health care, but our largest problem is our militarism that has drained our economy and heaped a massive burden on future generations of Americans. I like Sandy a lot, and respect her opinions and some of the others above, but on this... as long as our foreign policy is based on militarism and Obama or anyone else expands that militarism, I'll continue to rail -- and it has nothing to do with Turdblossom.
And I am about to explode.
We spend 600 to 700 billion every year on defense and militarism. That's 85% more than the next largest spender. If we could cut that we could easily pay for whatever version of health care anybody dreams of, but that's not happening. Obama's increasing our militarism and theaters of "war" and protecting and maintaining torture capabilities. Can't understand how nearly everyone isn't disgusted by that.
Thanks for writing what I feel.
Perhaps you'll share this 10.
This is the part that infuriates me.
And I agree, they should be rounded up for treason, especially the Republican politicians who are encouraging it.
(That's the plan for this upcoming week for me.)
I wonder how effective this will be?

Now that Tom is going to determine 'quality' by the number of hits a post receives, it is even more important that we NOT give them the attention. I know it's easier said than done, and I get caught up in it myself. And then I turn around and feel disheartened when I get fewer comments all the time and see that my connections are all gathered on a Turdblossom thread commenting away.
I think we should pay attention to groups, also. Last night, I clicked the group tab on my homepage and was disgusted with what I saw. A one-line post about NOTHING, truly, NOTHING appeared several times - in a writing group and a political group. And then there was a second or third post of the day, (by someone who constantly posts multiples of inane articles), crying about how President Obama still refuses to release his birth certificate - in the BARACK OBAMA APPOINTMENTS, BILLS, AND POLICIES group. I am going to start removing myself from groups that post things that I don't want to see, and that I would be ashamed to see my work grouped with.
I laugh often at one-liners and even consider some one-line statements profound. But I think those one-liners, comic relief or profound statements, should be comments, not posted as articles. I choose connections and groups accordingly.
My complaint above was about group owners stating a group purpose and then accepting things that don't belong. That is not fair to group members. When I go to a writing group, I am not refreshed by one sentence about NOTHING. When I go to a political group, I am not refreshed by one sentence about NOTHING. And when I go to the Obama Appointments, Bills, and Policies, I am not refreshed by jokes or topics that have nothing to do with Obama's appointments, bills, or policies. If I keep seeing things in the wrong groups, I am going to refresh myself by leaving those groups and having a Coke.
I have long advocated that the turdblossoms be confronted in new articles -and not engaged in a forum where they can delete commnents or profit from their idiocy.
No, seriously. I'm confused.
Sincerely confused.
How does something like this go down? Does each clique member get a vote, or only those who are in good standing? How does a member receive good standing status? Is it an honor to be chosen spokesperson, or did you do something horrible - like talke to someone the other clique members hate - so they sent you as punishment? Do you have to low rate while you're here, or will the other clique members take care of that anonymously?
I guess what I'm trying to say is that I am woefully ignorant of the policies and procedures of The Clique and I'm sure that I violated a host of them by speaking for The Clique (which probably gets me thrown out or, at the very least, suspended... or something.)
Thanks, Kathryn and Franklin.
Rush Limbaugh became one of the biggest abusers of this tactic, and became very successful as a result.
This has become the right wing's ONLY tactic. It has ratcheted hatred up to brand new levels. People actually BELIEVE the garbage these people have been spreading, and behave as if it is true.
The questions began well enough, but very soon they became slanderous suggestions of misbehavior on the part of my Congressman. She wasn't saying "[name] is facing charges of embezzling" or something so direct, she was saying "What if [name] were facing charges like that -- how would that affect your vote?"
I finally told her that what she was doing was spreading propaganda disguised as survey questions and that she ought to pay attention to that and decide if that was something she could live with doing. Then I ended that call and dialed my Congressman's office to let them know what I'd just experienced. I thought it was one of the most underhanded campaign moves I'd ever seen in action.
Yay for you, Dannielle!
I'm dealing with a situation now in which people that I have been close to all my life are delivering the same sort of deceitful messages (some of them about me). Honesty is how we live our lives, not selecting the appropriate 'nice' words.
I remember the McCain rumor.
I. Their wives/girlfriends
a. How lazy and worthless they are
b. How they contribute nothing to the relationship
c. How they take everything without shame
d. How stupid they are
e. How lost they would be if they ever had to make it on their own
II. Their children/stepchildren
a. What disgusting whores the girls are
b. What pathetic losers the girls' boyfriends are
c. How lazy and worthless they all are
d. How f***ed up their lives will be when they have to make it on their own
III. The f***ed up condition of their own lives
a. How none of it is their fault
b. Everyone whose fault it really is, and why
c. How much they hate the people who have ruined their lives
d. How trapped and powerless they are to stop the misery being visited on them
I tried to change the subject several times, but they would have none of it. I turned up the music loud enough that they had to practically yell. It still took them until near the end of the day to truly wind down.
Today, one of those guys started in on politics, with the same attitude and tone. He asked me if I listened to Glenn Beck. He asked if I was aware that so many people hate President Obama that the Secret Service has had to beef up his protection. My response, paraphrased for brevity and clarity, was that ignorant rants about victimhood based on hate and fear will not be tolerated on this work site. I made it clear that, to the extent I can manage it, I do not work with dangerously crazy people and this is my project. The rest of the day was pretty damned quiet, let me tell you.
I can't even put together a team of three around that miserable place without two of them parroting wingnut extremist talking points at me and pissing on endlessly about the causes of their personal misery.
If you can believe this, an employee can listen to Glenn Beck on the radio in the workplace, even when doing so forces other employees to listen to him too. That is a protected activity. It is not permitted to criticize Glenn Beck or anyone who listens to him if such criticism causes a fan of Glenn Beck to be offended. That is harassment. Hooray for tolerance and diversity, brought to you by your state tax dollars.
In my opinion, the reality-based community's best hope is a Wingularity.
My former employer had a simple policy. No radios or music except on headphones. Worked well.
I'm glad you enjoy the stories. That makes it a little more worthwhile and tolerable (and I'm not being sarcastic).
