Today we woke up way earlier then we needed to. Not being able to sleep much. I then made some breakfast which I don't do to often, we took our showers, got last minute things started.
Got a scare when we was outside waiting on Judy to come. The egg donor's grandmother called and said Laura was afraid of being arrested if she showed up because of the order of protection. Finally convinced her if she was going to be arrested it would be over her calling and having people call before her going to court. We then went back to waiting on grandma.

James fell asleep on the way to court. Getting up early and having a drive wore him out.

Got to court a little after 10 am and tried to get some pictures of James. He was scared of Abe so that was a no go.

We decided to head on inside to wait even though she wasn't there yet.

Finally at about 10:45 she showed up at court with her uncle. Don't ask me to explain this picture trust me you don't want me to lol. Unfortunately we had to tolerate her loud mouth longer then we wanted.

Here is grandma and James waiting for the moment to go in. They took all the 11:00 ones before ours since we was an adoption. Wasn't to many in there though and about 11:20 in we went to court.

We wasn't able to take pictures during the court and trust me we was all to nervous to even think about it.
They asked her if she knew what this meant she answered with a yes. They asked her if she understood this meant no contact, phone calls, visitation, obligations to James. This is when I got even more nervous and grabed Erics hand. She then said yes to that question. He as well asked her uncle if he thought she understand and he said yes. He was supportive all through this and told us more then once this was the best thing for the baby.
After court we got a picture with the Guardian Ad Litem, Gina Vonderheide. We appreciate all the help she helped us with.

After court is when it got real nerve wracking though. She then started referring to her self as mom. She started talking about how she was going to do this and that. Like she didn't even realize what she just done.
We invited her, her grandma, and her uncle to McDonald's for the last visit. Trust me Judy, Eric and myself really bit our tongues.

This is James with her grandma his great grandma.

and here is the happy legal family! James is no longer James Michael for now he is James Michael Nolan after his grandpa.

Tonight James is staying with grandma and grandpa since we have another appointment tomorrow and quite a drive. Eric and I are staying at Nancy's and she is taking us to the appointment. Then we will go pick up our son and head home.
It has been a long 3 years, a long battle, but well worth it. Thank you all for your support and prayers.
Tonight Eric, Nancy, and I all went out for dinner to celebrate. Had a wonderful meal at Ponderosa.

omens and lives
Congrats!!!
Congratulations! Finally, though you've truly been a family for a long time now, this makes it legal :=D
Hugs,
Marilyn
Is the protection order still in place though, if she was talking like she was I would be wary that she might try and do something. She certainly is unstable. It was good they had someone verifying she knew what she was doing.
God is good!
You can view it here.
Congratulations!
Best wishes to you all
I bet it will take a couple days to sink in that the deed is done and James ia all yours. He is such a sweet boy. You are the live guardian angel who came to rescue James:)
I am very happy for you all!
