When I started this job back in Jan, I knew knew that I would be saying goodbye to the babies that had yet to be born. I tought "no problem" I'm a guy we don't get all teary-eyed & emtional. I knewthat at 6months the babies would have to leave the farm, and go to another farm to grow bigger and stronger. Then off to learn to be harness race horses. I knew all this & was good with it.
Well what I didn't fore see was a baby being born a month early at the farm. It was a cold Jan 25th, when I got to the barn to feed. I fed "Intandto" first, but she was still out in her pasture. So I fed the other horses, then went back to make sure "Intendto" had come in to eat, but she was still outside. I decided I should check on her. I started out in her pasture. What I found was a new born foal in the snow. She was only a few hours old & having trouble standing. I ended up carrying her back down to the barn. Carrying her to the barn I knew my heart had been taken. Well it has been 6months since that day and very soon I will have to take my baby to another farm. Oh how I long to go on this journey with her.
So much for guys not getting teary-eyed & emtional!
