(Central Islip, N.Y., July 29, 2009) The Long Island Ducks defeated the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs 5-4 on Wednesday before a past-capacity crowd of 6,033 in a rain shortened game at Citibank Park.

Before the game a dance group managed to do a baseball themed routine, complete with costumes and props. From the youngest kids to the oldest, there was a great show before the game!

One of the many vendors at the ballpark is the popcorn lady. Next to the blue cotton candy guy she is the one vendor with the most visible product. You can watch how the bags on the pole get less and less until she goes back for another batch!

I suppose we need to get to baseball, but first some more pre game ceremonies.

At this point, I suppose it is OK to PLAY BALL!

At this point in the game, we take a break to discuss birthdays. You see that day was my birthday and I got my name up on the scoreboard. (And my age!)

Back to the game; they scored one, we score one, then we score another one, then they score three, then we score three and then the rain came.

Time to linger around the ballpark and get my cap signed by Bud Harrelson who was a Met when they won the World Series in '69 (fourty years ago for those not quick on the math) and currently wearing #3 (want a picture ... look up)

Definitely a fun way to end a ballgame! I'm singing in the rain!
