The mirror will let you see
as much as you allow yourself to see.
When you were young you could not fight back
and could not speak of fears in your mind
and in your heart, you had not the words
so you were a victim and you blamed yourself.
When you matured you gained the strength to reason
and to think and to realize your own power
Now you can say
'It was not me, I'm not bad, I don't deserve this,
I am no longer your victim.'
You can realize that you cannot find your mother's love
in every woman
nor
find your father's love in every man
That love is for you to give youself
But you have to stop crying, wipe the tears away
to let yourself see
what is truly in the mirror
because not only does the mirror reflect you
you reflect the mirror
If you don't, you are
Your own victim.
The mirrow has no thoughts or strength, you do.

How can we expect others to love us when we don't love ourselves? I'm not afraid to look in the mirror anymore. Used to, I'd see things I didn't like about myself in the mirror.... now, I learn to like what I see there.:) It makes a huge difference.:) This is a great post, and one that I'm sure resonates with a lot of people.....
