As soon as I stepped out the back door into my garden this morning my camera lens fogged up. Yup, it's summer in Florida. I took a few close-up pictures of my tropical flowers and southern garden blooms and trees to share with you. I even discovered a grasshopper along the way.
Enjoy the tropical garden photo tour!
Let's start off our tour by the garden gate
with the tropical blooms of our dwarf
Poinciana

A little eye candy as you arrive at the garden gate.

Today's Hibiscus bloom
not fully open yet
a little lens fog, sorry:)

Honeysuckle - love that scent!

Blue Plumbago
always pretty in heavenly blue:)

Surviving the heat surprisingly well ...
..... about to open

In full bloom

Over in the Secret Garden - the greenery is looking good.

White Caladium leaves - they get smaller each year, time to plant new bulbs.
You can purchase bulbs from 50 cents to $2 at the plant nursery - depending on the size plant you want. Plant in the spring and enjoy, comes in pink and red and green.

Here is the culprit - actually a pretty nuisance.
Grasshopper on my rosemary.

The pink vinca is taking over the veggie beds
spreading like wildfire.

The white crepe myrtle is the earliest bloomer of all of my crepe myrtles and hangs in the longest.
Lovely scent too - wafts through the air as you walk by, the bees love it too.

Our dwarf Poinciana froze back for the first time this winter,
but it sure staged a spectacular comeback.
Poinciana - a real tropical beauty.

Here is a blue plumbago about to open. I have several bushes all over the garden.
Pretty and easy care.

My Chicago Peace Rose is looking lovely this morning, I'm sorry I missed some of the blooms while I was gone last week.
It fades to an amazing array of colors ending with a creamy vanilla tinged in pink.

Hardy Star Jasmin - a reliable bloomer several times throughout the year.
I think it is a romantic looking flower.
Heady jasmin scent.

One of my favorites .....
blooms on our dwarf puffball tree.

..... and that concludes today's garden tour!
Hope you have enjoyed looking at my lovelies!

oh an that grasshopper is cool
I think the fog on the lens actually added to that picture. It gave it such a soft focus.
We're actually experiencing the same weather here today. Humid enough to fog my glasses when I popped my head out this morning.
especially since a lot of those we don't see in the neck of our woods in Kansas
I hope to be able to take the boys to one of the parks this weekend, so I am taking it easy and relaxing.
Thanks so much for sharing with my group.
Thank you so much!
