Family Fishing Along The Elk River in West Virginia

I snapped a few photos of Roger, Victoria, Ron, Haley and Parker while they were fishing today.

Fishing is a great relaxing sport that the entire family can enjoy.

The kids caught their own fish.

Since out of state license was so expensive, Victoria purchased a one day license. I heard her say she was going to go purchase another day tomorrow. :)

Needless to say, we had fish for dinner. :)

Haley does this cute little dance when she catches a fish. :)

Both the kids love to eat the fish they catch.

Victoria has always loved fishing from the time she was a tot. Now her children are taking to the sport themselves. They love it.

This river is directly across the road from our home.

We grew up across the street from the bay and often dug some worms and caught perch for breakfast.

May maternal grandfather enjoyed still fishing for hours; it was boring for my dad. My father was a fly fisherman and tied his own flies. Now one of my daughters is taking that up.

I love how Parker keeps his feet in the water even while fishing. Haley shows her inimitable smile. Looks like it was well worth the price of the licenses.

Fishing is so much fun! We really miss being able to go out fishing whenever we want. We are on the lake at the place we are renting, but it is to swampy down there & the water level is very low this year.

This brought to mind a story. I used to babysit these kids back in the day, and they had a large pond on their property. Every day we would go out and catch fish to eat for lunch. I made my famous fried potatoes to go with; those kids couldn't get enough of my fried potatoes!

Oh, what a great photo essay Connie. The kids are having so much fun finishing. I know my kids enjoy fishing too. It's a great sport to get involved with....

It's great that the kids like to eat their fish....and they don't get upset about it.
