Worldwide Water Education

My mission is to Educate,  Empower,  & Act.

The mission of Project WET is to reach children, parents, educators, and communities of the world with water education. and as s facilatator I educate Teachers in educating children about the most precious resource on the planet — water.

Back in the early 90's I was privilaged to be in the very first course for facilatators which was held in the Wetlands Institute located in Stone Harbor, in Cape May NJ; and today this project is now carried  out in 43 countries on five continents.

My favorite  Project WET activity teaches about the percentage of the Earth covered with water using statistics and probability. (The answer is 71% if you were wondering.)

Blue Planet Activity

I usually manage to faciltate about one six hour workshop at a teachers workshop in one of my local schools every year; and an added plus is that I get a $150 stipend for doing just one workshop.

I always open my workshops while making a toast with delicious water.

Currently there is a new Project WET campaign that I will be emphasizing in my workshop this fall

Hydration: Water and You

To inform and educate young people about water's role in maintaining a healthy body.

The Goal of this campaign is:

To inform and educate young people about the following hydration topics:

1. Through natural and well-managed human systems, water is renewable through the water cycle.
2. Water and body function
3. Water is life.
4. Healthy beverage choices
5. The importance of proper hydration
6. Throughout the world, we are all connected through our need for clean water.
7. It is the simple choices you make each day that add up to a healthier lifestyle.
