Took too long in a bathroom?

A deaf mentally disabled man was apperently in a stores bathroom too long.  They called the cops and the cops put pepper spray under the door then broke open the door, then tazared the man 3x's.  It wasn't until they took him to jail and opened his wallet that they found out he was handicapped.

Seems to me that sometimes the police are tazar happy.  I can see being careful but pepper spray and tazar.

Wow, that is crazy. They should have broke down the door first and should have been on a possible rescue mission rather than viewing the person as a criminal. Usually if someone is in the bathroom too long something is wrong. That is sad that they treated that poor man that way, or to think that they would treat even a person without disabilites that way just for spending too much time in a bathroom, without actually finding out first what is going on.

At the Vancouver Airport they killed a Polish man who couldn't speak English. After they had left him in a room for 6 hours with no communication and he became angry, they tazzered him 5 or 6 times.

I remember hearing about that. Then last year that one police station that had at least two videos showing different events of abuse in their lobby? I think they still trying to talk their way out of that also.

Yes, but at least they are investigating the matter, and it isn't an internal investigation.

My husband would so be arrested many times. He is in the bathroom more then any other room in the house. He's mentally 'ok', but clearly needs more fiber!

This was a sad story. Clearly its 'shoot first, ask questions later" lately!

When are cops EVER found guilty of brutality or mayhem. Judges, sympathetic to dangers they face, excuse ANYTHING! Reduce guns, profit in drugs and criminals made worse in prisons, and you will reduce peripheral damage to the innocent.

I just heard that they found out he was handicapped before they took him to jail and they investigating why the cop did that after he found out.

I think that most cops let their position of authority and power go to their egos. It seems to be that you hear more and more of abuse from police.
I hope this person sues the police and the store! Why didn't the store manager try to make sure the man was okay? They must have a spare key to the bathroom.

It wasn't a restaurant, it was a Dollar General store but I don't know what town.
