I really didn't want to add more fuel to this fire because it is a wacked-out debate for starters. The “birthers” will not even listen to reason or the facts and continue to insist Obama has no right to be president because of his birth.
Their ravings continue despite official Hawaiian online documents (and explanations) regarding the president's birth and despite a ruling by the US Supreme Court that they saw no merit in the claims and dismissed the case. Though I haven't seen any polls, I would suspect the vast majority of Americans also believe this birth issue is a lot of useless crap and continue to search for jobs or adequate health care and maybe a place affordable to live and raise a family.
But the birth issue raises some questions. What about the citizenship of sons and daughters of our military who born in a foreign nation? Our diplomats? Our workers?
The evidence is clear Obama's mother was a natural born citizen of the USA, so why do the birthers continue to bleat the president is not a natural born citizen? Following the flawed reasoning of the birthers, shouldn't questions be raised about the births of thousands of Americans not born on USA soil but to an American parent?
The birth evidence clearly points to the fact, the birthers are flat-out wrong and can not or will not admit the errors. So, I guess I am wondering what the next new fairy tale will spew forth? A dead pope and Michael doing the moonwalk between Venus and Mars and viewed by thousands on Hubble before the censors turned the telescope off?
Sure we are all entitled to an opinion and there still remains the issue of free speech; not do I want to trip anyone's trigger. But for pete's sake, enough is enough.

Yes, Obama's mother was a citizen BUT she did not meet the requirements in place at the time of Obama's birth to qualify him as a Natural Born citizen. The requirement is stated thusly "If only one parent was a US citizen, that parent must have resided in the US for at least 10 years prior to his birth, and at least 5 years of those years must have been after his mother reached the age of 16. That would mean that Ann would have to have been 21 at his birth. She was only 18-19 at most therefore he apparently does not qualify as a Natural Born citizen as required to become POTUS. Where he was born is not the issue here nor was it at the time of his birth. The details are important vast generalizations are not.
If there is a legal expert in citizenship issues out there that could clarify my understanding of the law and definition I would appreciate reading your comments as I do not arbitrarily want to remain in the "birther" category.
Thanks.
I don't think that matters.
President Obama was born in the U. S. The U. S. State of Hawaii has now twice issued a public statement confirming that Obama was born in Hawaii.
What is the question?
The basis for the "birthers" questioning the legality of President's right to be president is based on the BIG LIE that he was not born in Hawaii.
I do realize that just because the State of Hawaii says Obama was born there doesn't mean you will believe it so.
You are opposed to Obama being president so you have to believe the lies. It is the way of the Republican "voter base."
Too many comments with regard to this issue try to lump all circumstances under one requirement. It doesn't work. Does that make me a purist for upholding the requirements of the rules/law.
Thanks, again.
You don't know what the law is.
How can you be a purist about upholding it?
So I ask you again
Are babies born on U.S. soil, natural born citizens?
No matter what the status of their parents, legal immigrant, naturalized citizen, illegal immigrant, unmarried mother.
Are you a more qualified purist about who is and is not a U. S. Citizen than the U. S. Supreme Court?
The U. S. Supreme Court has rejected at least 7 and possibly more of the challenges about President Obama's citizenship as a qualifying factor.
You can't label this current U. S. Supreme Court as "liberal", It is the most conservative court we have had for at least 60 years.
It seems as if some are saying he was born in Kenya and they rushed back to the states because the new baby was destined to be a future president. and now for the tooth fairy...
