I cannot believe this summer!
OH>>> for oh so many reasons!
It is now nearly the end of July, and I am just now seeing the first of my ripe tomatoes!
It has rained so much here in this area of Missouri, that I have only had to water twice all summer.
The cucumbers have been abundant. I have 9 pints of dill pickles to prove it and plan on a round of sweet pickles before the month is out.

I suppose, before long, I can hope to can up some salsa( if these pictures prove anything!)

taters and melons too

Oh, and don't forget flowers(duh)! Lots of flowers this year. My hardy hibiscus finally bloomed!

On top of being an odd year, it has also been another difficult year. One to be remembered for the lessons learned by lifes battles fought....take nothing for granted...prepare for anything.
I have been rereading some of my older posts from the past few years. I hope to regain some of that joy...but it will take a huge amount of effort, I have lost my edge for the moment. So quiet, has been my aim.

Don't laugh!
105 here today...and all my windows and doors will be open for Crazy Vladimir to stain the woodwork! YIKES!
But I can't wait all your heirlooms are doing fantastic! We've been eating cukes for weeks.
beetles are here and are chewing up the leaves of everything...making up for lost time I guess....
yeah this is the year of the cucumber...everyone has them no one wants them LOL...but god bless them..they ahve kept my garden spirit alive
Does this indicate that I feel like a transient at this address? Inability to make a commitment? Maybe.
My best wishes to you for the fall, since the summer was so wacked out for you. Although you still have a chance at the last days of summer really rocking.
Here's to you, sister of the heart.
Blessings.
