Do you remember driving your First time on an interstate?

no actually I don't remember.
which is kind of scary,
since I didn't even learn how to drive until I was 21,
so it was less than 20 years ago.
I know it must have been on one of the interstates around here, since I learned how to drive here.

I started driving in a small town in Michigan. It was a good place to start since we had many country roads and we took drivers trainning in school.

That was so long ago that I have virtually no memory of it except that it was easier than driving on the surface streets.

It was awful. The first few times I drove on I83 I stayed in the right lane and went exactly the speed limit. Trucks almost scared the life out of me and curves at high speeds totally freaked me out.

we used to live near the interstate,, that was the fast way to get down town or out of the city,, I think it was the summer I turn 16..we drove to lincoln,, and we alway went to lincoln every weekend, I ask every weekend and get the nope... Well once my dad said yes and I was floored...

We lived near the interstate also. My uncle would take me out to drive a small stretch of it when I had my drivers permit. By the time I went to drivers ed I was a pro at interstate driving. It was parking I had trouble with lol.

I don't really remember. I know it was with drivers ed but that is all that I could tell you.

I do!!! It was the Saw Mill Parkway in NYS. It was terrifying! That is a very, very narrow road and I was way too inexperienced to drive there!
Yeah, I was 12 and I drove across New Mexico in the wee hours of the night, while my oblivious family napped in the back of the station wagon. My dad was just too sleepy to drive anymore. Hey, he asked me to! Boy was my mom pissed when she woke up at 5:00 am and I was at the wheel.

It was scary at first, seeing so many cars coming at you and beside you. But i got a hang of it in no time

Actually I do for some reason. I was with a friend and he talked me into trying my first attempt at merging with traffic on the freeway. I got onto the on-ramp, sped up and merged into traffic terrified, and then got off at the next exit, LOL.

Well shortly after I got my license I drove 400 miles away to college. It was a great experience, as I got pretty good at driving with such a long stretch to drive.
