I have to admit I have never been a huge Luis Fonsi fan, and even though there have been one or two songs that caught my attention, I try to ignore Luis Fonsi in general-- then I heard him sing his new song, Llueve Por Dentro.
There is not one huge reason for ignoring him, but a bunch of little ones, like the fact that he was in a telenovela (I hate them and only watch them when forced to) and then there is the fact that most of his songs are pop versions of Spanish ballads-- I'll take one or the other but there are few singers that pull it off well enough for me to love it.
So, it was really only because of the girls that I even listened to him at all in the first place. None of his songs are on any of my playlists so the only time I have to hear Luis Fonsi is when we are in the car and I tire of my playlist, opt for the radio and the girls beg me to turn up his music. Whatever.
Last week we all tuned it to watch Premios Juventud on Univision, I was shocked by all the awards that Luis Fonsi pulled in, a whopping ten. Of course, Fonsi set a record. And the girls were thrilled, though they were rooting for some other artists in some of the same categories.
If that didn't impress me enough, Luis Fonsi got on stage to sing a brand new song, Llueve Por Dentro. It was not enough to make me fall in love with the man, but I did fall in love with the song. Just when you think every single way of saying I Love You, expressing your love for someone, singing of heartbreak, heartache, longing, lovey dovey feelings-- you get the point-- has been said, someone goes and writes/sings something like this.
I don't know. Maybe every way of saying it has been said, but this is still a beautiful version.
