Baby Shower today!

Today I had my baby shower for Michaela Grace.

This being my second child I didn't expect to get much at the shower - also since I didn't know most of the ladies that well (only living in the area for a short time and just joining the playgroup recently).

The cake was beautiful! My friend Susan made the cake and did a tower - the top was a small cake with a bear on it. The next part down was regular sized cupcakes with a baby and a blanket made from a marshmallow and a little bear cookie. Super cute!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The next level down was mini cupcakes which were perfect for the kids - they had a little bear cookie on them. The kids that were there also got a small bottle of bubbles to play with while there.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

There was also some rice crispy treats and juice packs for the kids. The adults got the larger cupcakes and two little gift bags with chocolates to take home.

There was a vase of flowers that I also got to take home - so pretty.

For the gifts I got -

A really nice high chair that folds down.

And my friend who hosted the party, Donna, got me a playmat and a travel system which won't be here until August.

Overall, with everything I got I am pretty much all set. I might have to pick up a few more clothes in NB sizes and diapers, but that is it.

Thanks! It was a blast - I really didn't expect so much so when I got there I was shocked at the whole set up with the cake and gifts!

Wow! That cake is fabulous! The cupcakes are amazing.......what a clever idea! You got some really nice gifts! All the baby clothes are just darling!

It was really a neat idea. I love baking and have made special occasion cakes before - but I am not that inventive. I guess I should stick to pies :0P
She did a great job and this is just a hobby/side job for her. She is a Psychologist who specialized in womens issues and eating disorders.

I really did - so much stuff that I know I will use since it worked really well for my son, like the cradle swing and bouncy chair.

That cake is incredible! Wonderful gifts--what a special time, and a special memory to cherish every time you look at little Michaela in her swing or bouncy seat or high chair.

That cake was amazing! I am so thankful that my friends took pictures of the party - I totally walked out of the house without my camera this morning and was feeling foolish the whole time.

You did great on your gifts! You will love the cradle swing. When we was staying with James' grandparents she borrowed her daughters he loved it. Saved us many rough nights.

Thanks - Yeah, I loved the cradle swing with Robbie, but sold it because we were moving. My friends were asking what kind of swing I wanted and I said I had to have a cradle style since it saved me many times when Robbie was fussy and wouldn't sleep. Everything was really wonderful today ;)

She did a wonderful job on the cake - I couldn't believe how well it came out :)
I was really surprised by all the wonderful gifts. This shower really was so much better than my first in that I got everything that I needed.

That cake is really amazing, what a talented friend you have. You definitely got some great gifts, and I bet they will all be a great help. We have the same playmat, and we love it. The swing really looks like a great one as well.

Emmett Shai was born at 8 lbs 5 oz, and I have the feeling he will be out of his newborn clothes by next week. It is such a big difference from Sky, who was 6 lbs at birth and did not reach 8 lbs until he was more than a month old.

Thanks - the cake was a big surprise to me - I was expecting a much more laid back shower. The playmat looked really cute and I love cradle swings so I was very happy to get that.

Congrats again on your little baby boy. Robbie was 6lbs 15oz at birth, but he put on weight really fast. The NB sizes didn't last him more than a week or two. That must have been quite the difference having a baby that weighed only 6lbs and now one that is over 8!

The cake was a really big hit - even the local newspaper came out to take pictures and interview my friend who made it.

I am very blessed to have friends who were able to help like they did - I didn't expect so much from women I just met this winter.

Thanks! The cake was really yummy...once I finally had some. I don't have much of an appetite anymore, baby is taking up all the extra space :)
