With every family film that my kids get to watch, they are assigned to write a report about what they liked and disliked about the film they watched.
Well they just got through watching BOLT, for the second time. They seemed to geniunely enjoy this film. My seven year daughter old who is a bit creative wrote her likes and dislikes in various colors.
Here is what the colors mean:
Red ~ She was mad.
Blue ~ She was sad.
Black ~ She was happy and good!
I didn't instruct her to choose colors or anything like that, that is just the way she processes things in her mind.
Here are her likes/dislikes (written with her permission of course):
1. She didn't like the GREEN EYED Man.
2. She didn't like that the GREEN EYED Man almost put the green liquid stuff into Penny's body.
3. She didn't like that BOLT got lost!
4. She LIKED THAT PENNY FOUND BOLT!
Here is what my six year old son wrote (again written with his permission):
1. He liked when the GREEN EYED Man found the green liquid so that when he almost put it in Penny, BOLT shot his green laser power out of his eyes to break the green liquid.
2. He didn't like the fire scene.
Dad's point of view.
This was a fun film, and appropriate for all ages. Even my 3 yr old daughter liked it. She is just as expressive as my older daughter and if she doesn't like a particular movie right from the beginning of the film, she'll let you know, by saying, "I don't like this movie." ~ LoL!
Overall, I would recommend this film to all family oriented movie lovers, there is a bit of reality and fiction to learn from this film. A great lesson to teach your own children about what's real and what's not. I give this film TWO THUMBS UP for sure!
Thanks for reading and adding your own comments!
A little side note: My daughter gave her permission, in her words, because I'm her father. My son willing gave his permission and stated I could put it on facebook as well (does someone want additional recognition or what) ~ LoL!
Goes to show how differently they both think!

I think my favorite recent family films are Monsters vs Aliens and Bedtime Stories, though. Especially Bedtime Stories.
