Do you always wear a slip with a dress or skirt?  I always do, and it's almost a religion with me, but today, I'm wearing  long denim dress to dinner.  It's 96 degrees out, and it seems a little silly to wear a slip, when nothing can show.

Dumb?  Maybe, but I really want to know.

PS.  Okay men, you can answer but be nice.

The only time I wear skirts or dresses is when forced to (i.e. when I was in choir in high school and for prom). So I have no idea lol.

Hmmmmm, sorry I can't help........I never wear dresses or skirts.....don't think I even have any in my wardrobe.....LOL!!!!

I used to wear denim jumpers that no one could see through when the weather was hot. That's what denim is for!!! You go girl, be cool!!!

I am wearing a long linen off white skirt and I do have a slip on because I was afraid that my skirt would be see through... but the skirt has slits up the side, so I chose a shorter slip.

As for your question, with denim.. you do not need to wear a slip... I would wear one with denim only in the winter if the denim was sticking to my nylons or opagues (static cling). You are fine.

I used to wear a slip with thinner or lighter colored dresses to church.

But now I wear dresses/skirts to work every day, and I never wear a slip...only hosiery in the winter. I make sure not to buy anything that would require a slip.

I agree with Janet. Put your hand through the skirt or dress and hold it up to the light if you can't see through it no slip is needed. I sometimes will wear the long to the knee slip pants they are cool & comfortable but the air can still get up the skirt or dress to keep me cool.

to be all honest I havent worn a dress in over 5 yrs,, and dont plan on too anymore,, I have a brace for my leg and wont show it off,,

I don't ususally wear dresses or skirts either....and I will admit that I didn't wear a slip under the one I wore to my bil's wedding...too darn hot.
I only wear a slip if light shows through the skirt, if the skirt sticks to my nylons (if I bother to wear nylons), or if I need an extra layer to keep me warm. I wear a denim skirt to work every day all summer, and never wear a slip with it.
I was thinking the same thing...wear as needed.

If and when I wear a dress or skirt, I always wear a slip underneath. It is just the way I was brought up.

If you can see through it, or it's a lighter color I'll wear a slip, otherwise I don't since a lot of skirts hae built in slips now

I never wear a slip. In fact, I don't even own one anymore. My fancier skirts are all lined, so that only leaves the cheap skirts, and they're opaque enough that I can get away with it.
