I was so convinced that my first child was going to be a boy! I had always wanted an older brother, so that is what I convinced myself that I was having. All the little old ladies told me I was carrying "just like I did when I had my son." The ring on a string above my swollen belly said "boy."
There was no doubt, I was having a boy. After 23 hours of gruelling labor, my baby was born on July 23, 1976. The nurse hollered out..."it's a boy!" I was thrilled. I had my boy I wanted. Just then the doc looked over at the nurse and said "Don't you know the difference between a boy and a girl?" With that he looked at me and said, "You missed a boy by this much."
For a fleeting moment, I was devastated...."a girl...NO!!!"Then the doctor held her up. She was beautiful. Exactly what I wanted. I was introduced to Mellisa (Lisa) Kaye. Who could ask for anything better?
That was 33 years ago. Seems just like yesterday. What a great joy my Lisa has been. Great daughter and awesome friend!!! She has given me three beautiful grandchildren who have been a joy. She has shown me that a son-in-law is someone who can be wonderful and who I can entrust my daughter and granddaughters to.
I wanted to share my beautiful daughter and her family with you. Here are some pictures of them from her birthday party in the park.

This is Lisa,my oldest. Who could have wanted anything else?

Opening presents. What fun!!

Looks like a Smiley Face Book Marker. She collects smiley faces. Even her bathroom is done in smiley faces.

What a nice present from a friend. The picture in the frame is Lisa and her friend, Tiff.

The whole family. Jason, Lisa, Ashlie, Kirstie and Tahnie.
